Toyota Touch 2 – how to update maps and software

Toyota Touch 2

It’s easy to keep your Toyota Touch 2 with Go navigation system updated with the latest maps and software using the MyToyota customer portal.

In this video we show you how to update your Toyota Touch 2 system’s maps and software, and below you’ll also find step-by-step instructions.

To get started, you’ll need to log in to your personalised MyToyota area. If you’ve already registered, simply head to MyToyota and enter your email address and password. First time users will need to complete a simple registration process, which is explained in this step-by-step post.

Click on ‘e-Store’, and then scroll down to access the ‘Maps’ section to view available updates for your system. Select an update to get more information on your update.

Select the car to which the update applies, and click ‘Add to Basket’. If you haven’t yet linked your Toyota Touch 2 with Go system to your MyToyota account, the onscreen prompts will help you to do this.

View your basket by clicking ‘Basket’ from the menu at the top of the page. From here, you can proceed through the checkout process, entering your details and choosing the most convenient payment method – either credit card or PayPal.

With checkout complete, click on the ‘Purchases’ area to see your purchased map update and beside the map update are three icons.

To enable the map update you need to click on the KEY icon. You will be given a 16-digit activation key code. Please write this down or print it from the website using the print function.

The second icon will give you a set of instructions on how to download your maps, and the third icon is a link to the actual download. Please download the ZIP file, expand it on your computer or laptop, and save it to a blank USB stick.

Now take the USB stick and the 16-digit activation key and go to your car.

Plug in the USB and follow the onscreen instructions.

You can also update the software of your Toyota Touch 2 system following a similar process. You will not, however, require a 16-digit activation code for software updates. View available updates in the ‘Software Updates’ section of the MyToyota e-Store.

  1. Hi , is there anyway of changing the voice on the Hilux nav ? Also it shows car speed limits not the correct commercial ones on A roads and dual carriageways !! Thanks and best regards…

    1. Hi Finners,
No, it is not possible to change the sat nav voice.
The car shows speed limits displayed on the road, rather than the adjusted speed limits for commercial vehicles.
We’ll let the product team know of your feedback though.
      Thanks.

  2. Exactly the same issue as has been noted here. Had no issues updating maps on my Prius, but my Rav4 Hybrid – no luck. Purchased from e-Store, downloaded zip and uncompressed to USB. No joy. Place in the car USB socket and confronted by “Cannot authenticate” error. Told by support to “try different USB sticks”. Tried 6 so far – all different sizes and makes. No change. Interestingly, one of the four .iso files provided will not “mount” on Window10. Says the .iso is corrupted. This is probably the issue, but no further response to my initial email.

    1. Hello Matt, we’re sorry to hear that you are still struggling with this.

Do you have your case reference number from the Multimedia Support team? We can look into this and ask them to get in touch with you again.

      Thanks

  3. How do I get maps/sat nav on my new Yaris, 2021. Pressing the map key on the multi media display tells me maps not available?!

    1. Hi Keith,

Satellite navigation is not available on the new Yaris. To access maps, please connect your phone and use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. You can do this by plugging it in via USB.

      Thanks

      1. Hi there, Is there any other way? not really like the idea of having my phone on charging at all time.

      2. Hi,

Sorry, there is no other way. We are always looking to improve our product offering and your feedback has been noted for future models.

        Thanks

  4. I have a 2017 Aygo so originally fitted with the pre-uplift media system (86140-OH020).
This supports only Mirrorlink for phone apps (e.g. navigation) and Mirrorlink is now obsolete and just doesn’t work – so no Satnav.

I have had the unit upgraded to the post-uplift model (86140-YV020) hoping that this would support Android Auto. Unfortunately it doesn’t – it still supports Mirrorlink and also Miracast. Miracast is a screen mirroring system but only works when the vehicle is stationary so still no Satnav….

I am sure that there is a system upgrade for the unit that can be installed via the USB connection that would solve the problem but have been unable to find any help from the dealer network so far.

    Can you help please?

    Thanks,
    Bernie

    1. Hello Bernie, thank you for your comment.

The system in your Aygo is not compatible with the Android Auto system and therefore retrofit is not possible. If the navigation system is a must for you, we’d recommend looking into a separate aftermarket navigation system.

      Thanks.

  5. When I select street view, I get an error message that the feature is no longer available. Any ideas why? Rav4, hybrid, 2018.

    1. Hi Anastas, thanks for your comment.

We’d recommend getting in touch with your local Toyota Centre for help with this.

      Thanks

  8. Hi, I have just bought Toyota Auris VVT-I ICON – 2015. When I press Mapnav it’s saying not available. How can I install Mapnav there?

    1. Hello,

You will need to establish if your Auris is equipped with a navigation system first. If it is not, this is something that your local Toyota Centre can look into fitting for you.

      Thanks
