Toyota Touch & Go – How to use sat-nav features

Toyota Touch & Go helps you get to your destination with only the push of a couple of buttons. In this video we show you how to get the most out of your sat-nav.

The blue arrow on the screen represents your Toyota and shows where it is on the map and which way it is facing.

To set your destination:
Press NAV
Enter the destination’s street name or postcode
The system will give you the option to choose from three routes – FAST, SHORT or ECOLOGICAL.
You also have the option to avoid motorways, toll roads, tunnels or ferries/car trains when you select AVOID.

Point of Interest search
One of the Touch & Go’s most useful features is the Point of Interest search. Banks, restaurants, petrol stations, schools, museums, coffee shops – there are over six million to choose from.

Press POI – Point of Interest

Follow the on-screen instructions to navigate to your point of interest.

  1. I have recently bought a 63 plate Yaris hybrid which was described as a 1.5 Icon Nav. I’m disappointed to find that the navigation system is not installed. The car should not be described as nav if system is not installed. A bit of a sales con

        Thank you for your post. We have spoken with our technical team and they have advised that your car has not had satnav software fitted either in the factory or at port of entry. The Verso Icon as per the spec sheet does not come fitted with satellite navigation. Your local Toyota dealer can help by installing a satellite navigation system.   3. The nav system in my 9 month old Avensis has spontaneouly changed its distance and speed settings from miles to km. I cannot find an option to change it back in any of the settings menus please can you advise why has done this and how to change it back.

    Thanks for your post. We would advise going to the ‘Setup’ screen on your display, select ‘General’ and scroll down to ‘Unit of Measurement’. You should then be able to change it from km to miles. Hope this helps. Many thanks.

  5. Why can’t my touch and go pronounce place names correctly? In my previous Prius when driving abroad in France the speech was immaculate. Now in my Prius+ the sat nav has turned into a bumbling fool and tried to pronounce all the letters at once. So, recently in Besancon, the road ‘Winston Churchill Boulevad’ came out as ‘bleh!’. This is after the most recent update. It’s a shoddy piece of kit and vastly inferior to it’s previous incarnation in the 11 Prius. Phoning Toyota hq just results in a – we’ll call you back, which never happens. If I insist on results they put me through to a random dealer who then tells me to call Toyota hq as it is nothing that a mere dealer can sort out. Come on! Get your game together and help a frustrated customer.

  6. Ella – no, because your people kept fobbing me off to dealers. I did have a case number for the initial problem which I have now lost, which dates from Thursday.

  7. On My 66 plate RAV4 hybrid has sat nav and the voice instructions disappeared completely and I couldn’t even find a hint in the handbook or the menus as to how to recover it! In the end I googled it and found this page which whilst not giving me the answer spurred me on to try again. Eventually I found that pressing and holding the “ear and exclamation mark” screen button and turning up the audio volume at the same time the voice came back. Not very impressed especially as it’s not anywhere in the handbook or the setup instructions…

  8. Hi there. I just got 13 reg Toyota verso icon 1.6 advertised as full navigation, navigation isn’t installed.

    What do I do to get this installed please?

    I have a 63 plate Yaris was told it had sat nav on my touch and go. It has all the other features working Bluetooth, phone etc but I really wanted it for the sat nav. How do I get it to work?
