  1. I have a 2014 Prius Plug-In which replaced my 2007 Prius. Is it possible install the sat nav software from my old car? There are lot’s of things I don’t like with the new one: no North arrow, no permanent scale bar, very cluttered map that’s hard to read (especially at night), poor choice of alternate routes, car-location arrow that’s so big it covers up features on the map, the way it behaves at junctions… I could go on. I really like the plug-in, it’s a great advance on the older Prius, except for the sat-nav which is almost unusable compared to its simple, clear, well-designed predecessor.

    1. Hello David
Thanks for your post and we do appreciate your feedback regarding your recent upgrade to a Prius Plug-in.
Good to hear that you like the new car however we have passed on your disappointment regarding the satellite navigation operation to the product team. They have the responsibility regarding specification and features. We did speak with our technical team but unfortunately it is not possible to install the satnav software from your previous car. When we look to introduce a new car we do look to try and improve features and specifications from previous models and we are therefore sorry to read your comments. We do need to take these onboard during future product reviews.
      Thanks again for your feedback.

  2. Hello David
Sorry for the delay in replying on this.
We have run this past our technical team again but their recommendation is to take your car to your Toyota dealer and perhaps demonstrate the issue you are experiencing. This will help them identify what is going on with your system and whether it is performing to specification. Sorry that we cannot be more conclusive but it is sometimes difficult to diagnose issues online.

  3. I have the toyota yaris 1.4 2013. I keep trying to use my sat nav feature but everytime i press the button, it shows on the screen “system not installed”. How or what have i got to do to install it?

    1. Hi Daii. Thanks for getting in touch. It’s difficult to say without having more info but it sounds like you’ve bought a vehicle that only has the Touch system installed. You’ll need to speak with your local dealer about upgrading to Touch and Go, this includes the sat nav feature. Hope this helps.

  4. I have a Yaris Hybrid I am having trouble with the satnav
I cannot put in a full post code I wanted to put on DE11 9PQ what I got was DE110 I could not enter the road or anything else
This is not the first time this has happened with this car .
Is this me or the satnav?

  5. Hello Mrs Patrick
    Thank you for your post.
We did run this past our technical team who have checked this further, The postcode you mention was able to be used on a car fitted with Touch & Go (we are not sure which version you have but this should not make a difference). Are you pressing the space button after entering DE11? This button is on the lower right of the screen and looks like this ˽. This then would enable you to enter the rest of the postcode.
Hope this helps and let us know how you get on.

  6. I have a 2014 Auris Hybrid and have now stored quite a lot of POIs (over 150) on the sat-nav. Is there any way to change the order they are listed?

Currently my POIs are listed A-Z, but ideally I would like to also see them by distance from current location or distance from current destination.

    1. Hi Martin
      Thanks for your post.
We have checked this information for you with our technical team. They have confirmed that it is only possible to see saved POI’s in alphabetical order, however if a search is carried out from the car then they can be sorted by distance from the current position, along the navigated route or distance from the destination.
Hope this helps clarify but let us know if you have any other questions.

  7. Hi, I have a Verso bought in September 2013 with Touch & Go. I have had problems with some aspects of the navigation system since the car was purchased. One is not being able to change the instruction distance which has often resulted in being told to take the exit as I have just passed it and the other is the instruction to ‘keep left’ when in fact it should be ‘take the exit’. Would a map update solve these problems?

  8. Hi David
    Thanks for your post.
From what you have described the system will count you down (in terms of distance) to your exit (if we have understood you correctly) you can zoom in on the map scale as this often help make the manoeuvre a little clearer. However if we have misunderstood then please let us know. It is unlikely that a map upgrade would address this particular issue though.

    1. Hi David,

Thank you. You have answered my question in that I wanted to know if there was any way to change when the instructions are given. The system countdown is part of the problem as it announces the final distance too late which is why one often goes past the turning you should have taken. It is as if it doesn’t take account of speed accurately. In terms of safety, I strongly believe it is safer to rely on the verbal instructions rather than have the distraction of looking too much at the screen, especially near junctions or exits or if not certain as a result of the confusing directions given.

If I had a choice in future I would prefer to have a Tomtom type navigation. I do not know what system Touch and Go uses but I have almost reached the stage where I will use my old Tomtom in the Verso as it has never let us down. The instructions are clear with exits and lanes and it is not necessary to look at the screen too often to verify the verbal instructions.

The Verso is great and other aspects of Touch and Go work well but the navigation could be better.

I appreciate your help but it seems there is nothing we can do. It is useful to know an update is unlikely to change the issues I have.

      1. Hello David
        Thanks for your post.
We do appreciate your feedback about the Touch & Go and will pass this back to the product team. It is good to know that you are enjoying your Verso otherwise but we do take on board your comments about the satnav. Just for further information when we introduce an upgrade, the majority of this would be map updates, operational issues can sometimes be addressed in response to direct feedback though.
