Toyota Touch 2: How to use sat-nav

Toyota Touch 2 is our advanced multimedia system and offers a rear-view camera, touchscreen control of the entertainment system plus access to your hands-free phone.

Touch 2 with Go adds satellite-navigation, a host of online connected services and a vast array of fantastic Toyota applications. Touch 2 with Go Plus adds voice control.

In this post we’ll take a look at how to use the Touch 2 with Go sat-nav in your Toyota and some of its additional features. It’s also possible to send journey details to your in-car navigation from the MyToyota online customer portal – to find out more about this, read our introduction to MyToyota.

The following video explains the process and we’ve also prepared step-by-step instructions below.

Start by pressing the system ‘NAVIGATION’ button.

Then press ‘ROUTE OPTIONS’, where you can choose to show route alternatives on your maps. You’ll only have to do this once.

Now return to the Navigation main screen and press ‘ENTER DESTINATION’.

Enter the relevant address or postcode, then ask the system to calculate the route.

Your device will offer you three route alternatives – Fast, Short and Ecological.

You also have the option of avoiding motorways, tolls, tunnels and ferries.

You can also change map modes between the normal map and the traffic map.
Touch 2 with Go Plus enables 3D mapping.

For more information on traffic services please see our post “How To Use Toyota Real Time Traffic”.

The icon in the bottom corner of the screen will access further information and map options.

Press the ‘POIs’ button to see all the different points of interest on your route, including destinations for eating, shopping and entertainment.

Touch 2 with Go can also access destinations in your phonebook contacts as well as destinations sent from Google or TomTom maps if your phone is paired with your device.

  1. Hello.
    I own a Toyota C-HR 1.8, 2018.
I have an annoying problem with the ToyotaTouch2Go multimedia system (GPS) in my car.
The problem is that sometimes the GPS position during driving deviates away from the actual position and after a few minutes the signal will be received again and then the actual position will be shown again.
So the cursor on the map jumps away from the actual position/place to another position/place that is far away (showing the wrong road and street name), then it corrects itself again after a couple of minutes.

This problem can happen anywhere at any time.

The nearest Toyota dealer could not help me with this problem.

What could this problem be and how can it be solved?

NB. The car is under warranty and the software/Map is updated to the latest version.

Thank you in advance for your reply.

    With best regards
    Sayf Al-Samerai

  2. I have a last year Toyota Hybrid and just got lost because the satnav refused to work.
I am an 84 year old pensioner and have been sold a dummy.
What a load of rubbish, never buy a Toyota.

    1. Morning Dave,

We’re really sorry to hear that.

Please get in touch with your local Toyota Centre to arrange a visit so they can take a look at that for you.

      Thank you.

  3. I have a Corolla Icon Tech purchased new July 2022. It has the touch 2 multimedia/satnav
Frustatingly the satnav map doesn’t show place names. For example driving past Worcester on the M5 it show the town but not it’s name. It has everything else, schools, shops etc.
    Scale makes no difference.
I presume (and hope) that there’s a setting I’ve missed here to correct this.
    Can you help?

    1. Hi Michaela, thanks for your comment.

Please can your clarify your question so that we can look into this for you.

      Thanks.

  4. Hi, I have a 2020 GT86 and have an issue with the Touch 2 (with Go) sat navigation.
If I try and select a destination from the phone book I see that the entries are greyed out. I would be grateful for some help, I suspect that the address entries are incorrectly formatted on my mobile.

    Many thanks Mike

  5. I have recently purchased a new Toyota C-HR and very pleased with it. I own a TomTom but found the navigation built into this car is good. However there is nothing in the handbook showing what the various colours on the roads or some of the images mean. For example I drove through a small town and the road was yellow, no traffic about or anything to cause me concern. I just don’t know what it was showing

    1. Hi Alan, thanks for getting in contact.

Please provide your vehicle registration so that we can look into this for you.

      Thanks.

  6. On our 2022 Yaris Excel the satnav well not start. When selected it just goes back to the main screen and will not initialise.

  7. Hi.

I have a Toyota CHR 2018. I recently bought it and the phone connects well for calls and music. However, I’m unable to use the navigation system. In the app, it says service is not available and when I try to pair the system as per the instructions from the app, I’m not able to see any option for connecting my car’s internet. Options CONNECT ME TO INTERNET, INTERNET AUTO CONNECTION, TOYOTA WEB ACCOUNT are not available in the menu. This Toyota Touch GO 1st Generation. Software version HE3947, Mode ID: 13TXDAEU-CA04. Thanks

    1. Hi there, thanks for getting in touch.

Please provide your vehicle registration so we can assist you further with this.
      Thanks.

  8. On Toyota Corollas from 2023 onwards, does the sat nav screen split in two for one half to show the map from above and the other half to show which lane to be in for busy junctions? My Tomtom sat nav does this, I want this feature in the sat nav of my next car.
