Toyota Touch 2: How to use sat-nav

Toyota Touch 2 is our advanced multimedia system and offers a rear-view camera, touchscreen control of the entertainment system plus access to your hands-free phone.

Touch 2 with Go adds satellite-navigation, a host of online connected services and a vast array of fantastic Toyota applications. Touch 2 with Go Plus adds voice control.

In this post we’ll take a look at how to use the Touch 2 with Go sat-nav in your Toyota and some of its additional features. It’s also possible to send journey details to your in-car navigation from the MyToyota online customer portal – to find out more about this, read our introduction to MyToyota.

The following video explains the process and we’ve also prepared step-by-step instructions below.

Start by pressing the system ‘NAVIGATION’ button.

Then press ‘ROUTE OPTIONS’, where you can choose to show route alternatives on your maps. You’ll only have to do this once.

Now return to the Navigation main screen and press ‘ENTER DESTINATION’.

Enter the relevant address or postcode, then ask the system to calculate the route.

Your device will offer you three route alternatives – Fast, Short and Ecological.

You also have the option of avoiding motorways, tolls, tunnels and ferries.

You can also change map modes between the normal map and the traffic map.
Touch 2 with Go Plus enables 3D mapping.

For more information on traffic services please see our post “How To Use Toyota Real Time Traffic”.

The icon in the bottom corner of the screen will access further information and map options.

Press the ‘POIs’ button to see all the different points of interest on your route, including destinations for eating, shopping and entertainment.

Touch 2 with Go can also access destinations in your phonebook contacts as well as destinations sent from Google or TomTom maps if your phone is paired with your device.

  1. I have just purchased a 2018 model C-HR excel with 2019 plates. I believe it has a Smart2Go series 1 Satnav system. The Toyota dealership believes that this model is unable to get live traffic data by using a mobile phone connected to the internet. I was able to connect my iPhone to the nav system and select Live Traffic over Internet but unable to tell if it was just TMC traffic showing on the map display or actual internet live traffic. Any thoughts on whether this is possible on this model?

    1. Hi Chris,

      1. Hi !
        Great company
Great cars … had new (or 1 year old) Yaris since the release date .. and just ordered the GR Sport hybrid .. wanted the excel but horid near white interior!!! … really wanted the panoramic roof just annoyed that can’t have the (extras) excel black interior … or GR with glass roof as all same body same factory same same!!

But I got over that issue … had no choice … but now I read the forum and every question gets a reply of best contact our media team … really!!?? … why not put the media team in control of this forum!!

Toyota produce some of the best cars … and can not produce a simple website reply !! ..

  7. Hi
I recently purchased a 2019 Toyota CH-R. I’m in love with the car but really disappointed with the lack of Apple Carplay or Android Auto. My dad had also bought a CH-R but his is the newer 2021 version and has it built in. Is there any way I can upgrade? We were told they were both exactly the same systems.
I have been doing lots of searches and it turns out I literally have the lowest spec. I have the Toyota Touch 2 system so not even the Touch 2 with Go.
My last car was a Peugeot 208 2015 plate and even this had the Apple Carplay built in.
If there is no way to upgrade, is there a way for me to add it via a dongle of somesort?
This is the system info that I have… Model id: 13TXDAEU-CA04 Software version: HE3947

    Thank you

    1. Hi Keren,
      Thanks for your question.
Unfortunately, this car is not compatible with the Apple CarPlay upgrade.
      Thanks.
