  1. I have a Sony MP3 player with a USB connection that works in the Nissan Juke that my husband had as a work hire car recently. When I tried it in my 2012 Yaris, I was unable to plug it in because of insufficient room given the location of the USB in the glovebox. I purchased a USB to USB extension cable to get over this problem, but found that the Yaris display stuck on “checking files ” and would not play. It is loaded with MP3 and not i-tunes. Can you help please?

    1. Hi Mary,
This may be due to the file format or file structure on the Sony MP3 player. We recommend checking the file compatibility with the owners’ manual. It may also be useful to speak with someone directly at your Local Dealer. Here are their details: http://ow.ly/fSjR5.
      Many thanks and kind regards.

  2. Hi. I have a Touch and Go System. Please help.
I have taken a “fingerprint” (the string on letters & numbers) and copied to USB. When I plug into the PC, the toolbox says there is an important update. It downloads this I guess to the USB. I then take it back to the car, and it says update found. Then it says take a fingerprint and take it back to the toolbox. I am going round in circles and don’t know what to do. This whole process is not easy. On the system informaton on the Touch and go it says version 1.7.5L What am I doing wrong ? Can the garage do this update for me (Gem in Bracknell). Thanks.

  3. Iphone 5 problem.
When the phone rings and I try and answer a call via the steering wheel button on my Yaris, or indeed the answer button on the touch & go screen, it doesn’t work. I can make calls with no problem. Work around is I have to answer the phone on the phone, then switch it to touch and go. Please help.

  4. You are not going mad. It is a ‘feature’. I posted on this on 3rd July.
The update process is not working 100% correctly. I am afraid you will have to live with it.

1.7.5 is an old version. You can get to 1.7.8 but would have to pay for 1.7.9.

    Buy a Tomtom its cheaper.

  5. Hi Chris,
We’re sorry to hear you’ve had some trouble with this. Software and map updates do incur a cost when upgrading. Your Dealer will be able to carry out a map update for you, this would be a chargeable service however they will be able to complete all the work for you. They may also be best placed to advise as they’ll be able to witness first hand the problem you’re experiencing. You can find their details here: http://ow.ly/g9NJO.
Sorry we are not able to help further from here and thank you for raising with us.
    Kind regards.

  6. Hi Chris,
We have tried to replicate this issue with an iPhone 5 however have not been able to do so. We suggest deleting the Bluetooth pairing and
re-connecting. If you are still having problems your Dealer will be able to look at this for you to see if it is a phone compatibility issue.
    Many thanks again for posting.

  7. Hi
I have a problem with my folders on my USB displaying in alphabetical order.
Some do and some dont. I would like them all to appear alphabetically (makes it easier to find music!). All my albums are placed in individual folders named accordingly (artist name (dash) album title). Where i dont put a space either side of the dash it uses whats after the dash as first letter to determine the alphabetical order (i think). Is there some kind of file naming convention to make sure your folders appear in alphabetical order – i.e. using underscores, space vs no space next to a dash?. Are there characters that shouldn’t be used and other characters that can be used (as separators) without effecting the alphabetical order of folders, as I want the artist and album to be displayed on the folder so I know what i’m selecting – or is there a better way to structure my filing?
    Regards
    Jolly

  8. Hi Jolly,
Thanks for raising this with us.
To be able to answer your questions accurately could you please let us know what specific system you are using and in which model. For example, Toyota Touch, Toyota Touch & Go, Toyota Touch & Go Plus.
Many thanks for your help in providing.

      1. Hi Jolly,
Thanks for getting back to us and apologies for the delay.
The files/folders on the audio are displayed in the order they have been copied to the USB memory.
However, there are some cases that will affect this, including content already on the memory and deleted files which may still be backed up on the memory. This may show the files in what seems to be a random order. Note that when selecting multiple files on your computer, they may not copy in that specific order.
To get an alphabetical list, the USB memory should be formatted and the files/folders added in the order that you’d like them to appear. Again, if files are added or removed after this, the order may again be affected.
We do hope this helps, your Local Dealer may be able to offer further advice.
        Best for the New Year.

  9. I have an iPhone 4S and a 2011 Toyota Auris Hybrid T-Spirit. Having previously paired my phone with the Bluetooth system successfully and automatically, I added some phone numbers to the address book today. Now the Bluetooth won’t connect to the phone but will connect to it if I say it’s an audio device (although obviously won’t work as a phone). When I press any of the steering mounted controls to try and re-pair or delete it the display just says “Welcome!” And won’t let me do anything.

I only picked it up at the weekend. I’m really disappointed as it looks like it might be back at the garage for a repair the following Saturday!

    Any advice gratefully received!
