Q1 – Why can’t I find the device ID on my Touch & Go/Touch & Go+?

A – To obtain the device ID on Touch & Go or Touch & Go+ press the “Set up” hard button.  Touch the “General” button on the screen.  Scroll to the bottom screen and select Touch “System information”.  The device ID should now be visible on the screen.

For Toyota Touch Pro, press the “Set up” hard button, touch “Navigation” on the screen and then touch “Online search”.

Q2 – Why isn’t the device ID not recognised on the portal?

A – The device ID on T&G and T&G+ is a 26 digit code which can be made up of numbers letters and symbols. When the ID is entered on the customer portal it needs to be exactly as it shows on the T&G including observing upper and lower case and any symbols like underscores etc but without any spaces.

Q3 – Why don’t connected services work on my 2012 Toyota Prius, Land Cruiser, Land Cruiser V8 and Lexus GS, RX or CT?

A – Your device may not be compatible. A Bluetooth compatibility list for Toyota is available here and here for Lexus.

Q4 – Why is the address I want to navigate to missing?

A – The address could be missing from the mapping, unfortunately there is no way to guarantee that it will be added during the next update.

Q5 – Does my car have the latest map update?

A – You can view the latest available map version via the Downloads section of the T&G Toolbox.

Clicking on the map of Europe shopping trolley icon will show you the version information available, and whether or not you need to download.

Q6 – Do I have to pay for map updates?

A – All map updates are chargeable except for Touch & Go+. This system is supplied with “map care”, which provides 3 years of free map updates (up to a maximum of 6 updates).

Q7 – Do I need to take action if the date code of my new map is out of date?

A – No, the date format within the map ID is not a release date. This date is allocated to the map during the development process. Development of the map can take up to a year.

Q8 – Why won’t my phone connect to the Touch & Go Bluetooth?

A – Your phone may not be compatible. You can check compatibility for Toyota vehicles here, and Lexus vehicles here.

If your phone is listed as compatible but still won’t connect – try deleting the phone/Touch & Go pairing  and reconnecting.

Q9 – Why isn’t the music on my USB stick playing through Touch & Go?

A – There are quite specific requirements for what is “playable media”. You can find this information in the “Audio system operation” section of your owner’s manual.

If  your USB stick is compatible but the music is still not playing, there could be a fault with the stick and you should try another.

If no devices are recognised when you attempt to connect them via the vehicle USB port, there could be a connection issue. You will need to have this checked over by your dealer.

Q10 – How many map updates are there per year?

A – For Touch & Go and Touch & Go+, there are 2 updates per year. For Toyota Touch Pro, there is 1.

Q11 – My phone is listed as incompatible but works with Touch & Go, why?

A – Only devices that are fully compatible with Touch & Go are listed as compatible.  Some functions can work partially with certain phones, but these would not be listed.

    1. Hi Stuart, thanks for your comment.

We understand and apologise for the dissapointment this situation has caused.

Some vehicles fitted with Toyota Smart Connect have Apple CarPlay/Android Auto fitted. However, this is different to Toyota Touch 2.

We have no information on future updates to the system.

      Thanks.

  3. Hi all I know this has been ask before but here we go.

  10. Hi, I booked a service specifically with Toyota for the A.Auto/Carplay upgrade. However I was told it didn’t happen because I need to upgrade my multimedia system using the device ID on the car. I have been trying this for hours (registered my toyota, but even with following the instructions and the car being fully ‘connected’ to my phone via BT + hotspot, I cannot get into the Device ID which i’ve read is via pressing Toyota online in settings>online. When you press new or existing account, it says T Online is not enabled would you like to enable online? (but nothing happens)…how else do I get the Device ID so I can register the multimedia online and upgrade the software and then AGAIN take it back to Toyota for the A.Auto/Car Play upgrade?
