  1. Two questions about the skyview option:

    1) Are the blinds truly motorised or are they manual?

    2) Are there vanity mirror lights? Or is there no room for them due to the glass roof?

    1. Hi Alfonso,
      Thanks for your questions,
      1) The panoramic roof blind is electric, a button is pressed to activate the cover.
      2) There are still vanity mirror lights with this option.
      We hope this helps you.

  2. Good morning, I read that from November 2012 is required on new cars have the device TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System). Why the new Auris has not it? Thanks and regards.

    1. Hi Marcus,
Thanks for your post, to let you know we’re currently looking into this and will get back to you shortly.
      Kind regards.

      1. Sorry for spamming the thread. Just in the same wikipedia article it states:

“In the European Union, starting November 1, 2012, all new models of passenger cars must be equipped with a TPMS, with even tighter specifications that will be defined by the UNECE Vehicle Regulations (Regulation No. 64). From November 1, 2014, all new passenger cars sold in the European Union must be equipped with TPMS”.

Sounds like conflicting, but what it means is that manufacturers submissions for new car models after november 2012 must have TPMS, but you can still buy cars without TPMS until 2014. Maybe a better explanation here:

    2. Hi Marcus,
      Thanks for the question.
The first phase of this legislation has come into effect which means that only new vehicles that require a new Whole Vehicle Type Approval certificate must have TPMS. However, it is only from 2014 that all new vehicles must have it. The new Auris didn’t need a new WVTA as it was included under the previous generation.
We hope this helps, many thanks.

  3. Hello! Is there a chance of setting up an auto door lock for the new auris? Like when you start driving the door lock will automatically lock?
    Thanks!

  4. Hello! Im just wondering if the new auris have an automatic door lock? Like when your about to dtive it lock automatically. If not can it be programmed?
    Thank you

  5. Hi Melvin,
    Thanks for the question.
The New Auris doesn’t have this functionality, and it isn’t something that can be added after manufacture I’m afraid.
    Hope this helps.

  6. thanks for your answer. Then for the new Auris touring sports, which is a new project, could have the TPMS?
    Thank you very much. Marcus.

  7. The new Auris has two different sets of instruments. One with 3 dials with a central Speedometer, the other with 2 dials, Rev counter on left, Speedo on right and a central info display. Which models have which, specifically Auris 1.6 Excel Manual Pan/Lthr/Sat,

    Cheers for info,

    Mark

  8. Hi Mark,
The Auris Excel grade comes with the 2 dials, rev counter, speedometer and the central information display. The remaining grades have 3 dials.
Thanks for your question and we hope this helps.

  9. I recently bought a new Diesel Auris and I am aware that the car is factory wired for cruise control, indeed I have a 3rd party accessory fitted. However this is not offering me a full set of Toyota features but at least it is possible. I refer the the post by Rob Smith on November 1st and to the reply by Oliwer Kmiecik who says that it is not an option in the UK, that implies to me that it is an option in other countries. I cannot understand why it is not an option on UK models as it must be technically possible. Happy customers are better than unhappy ones!!!

I look forward to your comments

    Dave

    1. Hi Dave,
We’ve contacted TME (Toyota Motor Europe) and they’ve informed us that that it can’t be fitted due to a technical reason, as cruise control is not available on the ECU (Electric Control Unit) for both RHD and LHD Auris vehicles. For your information, this is true for other countries as well as the UK market.
We do appreciate your comments, though, and have passed these on to TME. We hope you’re enjoying your new Auris, it’s a really great car and we wish you many happy miles with it!
      Many thanks and kind regards.
