  1. Is the Touch and Go Plus so crappy (old fashioned) that I can’t mute the sound system while receiving voice announcements. My Vauxhall system does this and it is 10 years old!!!

    1. Hi Lawrence,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us.
Sorry to hear of your disappointment with your Touch and Go Plus. We will pass on your comments to our Product team however if you do have any further concerns please contact Customer Relations via this link: http://bit.ly/bO71f4.
      Many thanks.

  2. Hi,
I bought a one year old Avensis a couple of weeks ago from a Toyota dealer. Would I be correct in saying that it should have the latest map installed in the Touch and Go and, if so, how do I check that it is indeed the latest version please?

    1. Hi Alan,
Thanks for getting in touch and trust you are enjoying your new Avensis.
The map in your car would be the version supplied at the time the car was new, later versions are available to purchase. For further information and to register your system you can visit the relevant page on our website and it can be reached via this link http://bit.ly/15XvBZE.
If you would like to check which version you have you can use the following instructions:
1, Press the setup hard button.
2, Touch General on the screen.
      3, Scroll to the bottom.
      4, Select System information.
The date in the map ID isn’t the release date, it is assigned to the map data during the development process. For guidance the latest versions launched to our network, versions EUL20130409 (Touch & Go) and EUH20130409 (Touch & Go+) were released to centres on 26th August 2013.
      Hope this helps.

  3. I have a 62 reg Yaris with Touch and at least 9 times out of 10 if I am playing tracks from the USB then turn it off it will revert to the first track on the stick next time. A reply to a post on the Toyota Owners Club forum (and a similar post on a Jaguar forum, which indicates it is not a Toyota specific issue) suggested trying different sticks but I have done this and the problem still occurs. Is there a firmware update that might sort this, or if it is down to the sticks are there any brands that are known to work?

    1. Hi Jason
Sorry for the delay in replying, our technical team were trying to reproduce this but have not been able to do so.
There are not any software updates for this, and their suggestion is to check the content on your stick and that it is fully compatible with the system (this information is available in your owners manual). The only other recommendation is to use good quality USB sticks.
      Hope this helps.

  4. Regarding Alan Campbell’s question, can I also ask:-
If the T&G map data – and associated software – on a secondhand car is, say, two or three updates out-of-date, is it necessary to buy ALL the missing updates to get uptodate, or will the latest update cover everything?

    1. Hi Steve,
The current update will bring the unit up to the latest spec, there is no need to carry out any previous updates.
      Hope this helps.

  5. Hi, I am having a problem loading the latest system update on my 2013 Auris.
    Followed instructions
    …downloaded toolbox
…copied software key to usb to create finger print – Car System information menu option
    …placed USB into W7 laptop
…USB and finger print detected and update copied to USB – Laptop
    …placed USB into car
…update detected – displayed twice then a short delay
…message…no update files found – re copy finger print to USB
…tried different PC’s with and without Virus program enabled
…doubled checked car software key and registered key identical – yes they are.
…sent message to support via toolbox – no response
    …checked helps files
…tried different USB sticks – formatted to W32
…can’t find any information on what the update fixes or changes
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards Geoff

    1. Hello Geoff
      Thanks for contacting us.
The update that is mentioned when you insert your USB stick with the fingerprint on into your PC with the Toolbox open isn’t an update for the Touch & Go. It is information that is required on the stick to allow an actual system update that you select (you need select these as they are not automatically issued when you connect) to be passed from the PC to the car. To carry out an update you need to allow the USB stick update to be carried out and then select the Application or map update you want to download from the toolbox, this will then be added to the stick as well. To make it easy I have added this to your instructions below.

      …downloaded toolbox
…copied software key to usb to create finger print – Car System information menu option
      …placed USB into W7 laptop
…USB and finger print detected and update copied to USB – Laptop (This is the update for the USB stick not the T&G.)
At this point you need to open the “downloads” section and select what you want to download (any chargeable downloads will need to be paid for). You can then transfer the downloads to the USB from the “updates” section.
      Hope this helps

  6. Further to my earlier comment about USB sticks, I seem to have found one that works! I’d previously used Sandisk and Kingston sticks, which jumped back to the first track, then I tried a generic stick I’d bought on Ebay and so far it has been fine – unfortunately it is not marked with a manufacturer name or I’d recommend them for anyone else with the same issue.

  7. Our Auris GPS decided to locate itself 38 miles away from where it should be. When engine restarted it still returns to the incorrect position. Is there an easy way to return it to its correct position? It is only a couple of months old so is it better raise the query with the dealer?

    1. Hi Adam
      Thanks for the post.
If your system looses GPS signal it can move from the current location. The system should reset the position when it has adequate GPS coverage. If the issue persists we do recommend popping back to your dealer to sort this.
      Hope this helps.

  8. Tried to download toolbox on windows XP several times but when I click download a car appears on screen but no download. My computer complies with the listed requirements shown

    1. Hello Brian
Thnaks for the comment. Had a quick chat with technical and not always easy to diagnose. They suspect that this could be a a compatibility issue with your browser and it may be worth trying Google chrome or Firefox if you are using something different.
      Hope this helps.

    1. Hi Michael
Thanks for post and sorry to hear you are having difficulties.
If you log onto http://www.my.toyota.eu there is a question mark at the top right of the page where you can access a FAQ section. Let us know how you get on otherwise we would need further vehicle details and a description of what you are doing and where you get stuck to answer more conclusively.
      Hope this helps.
