  1. Hi Oliwer, thank you for the reply.
I have now discovered that my 2011 touch n go system was transferred into the new yaris. I discovered that the “go” part with the sat nav / maps part was not compatible with the new touch aspect of the multimedia system. They have transferred the old one into the new car which means I have the old system in my car with updated maps and French speed camera updated.

After finally realising what had happened at the dealership yesterday it made it a lot clearer. The new trend doesn’t come with a sat nav and is option at £650! I was told the “go” ECU / Aerial could be transferred over to the new car, obviously not the case, as it wouldn’t allow the reversing cameras etc to work. When I was told that I was relieved especially at the potential cost of paying £650 for a sat nav. Why would these be the case and not compatible?

The dealership also agreed with how difficult and complicated it was to use the portal from a customers point They are feeding back Toyota.

I have logged on to the portal from a previous link from the blog.
I cannot find anyway to download the toolbox and to potentially use the goodie maps part.

I do feel and previously stated Toyota needs to make this process simpler, and accessibly from the touch n go section from the UK website.

It seems from other posts there are others having similar issues. It could be such a great combination to use, but I would be reluctant to use it due to the difficulties and frustrations.

I used independent sat nav and software in the past and they have been excellent.
Toyota are advertising this multimedia system to be all singing and dancing and when we can’t use it the full potential is lives me as a customer disappointed.
Maybe into date videos on you tube may help??

I can’t really use the portal
Any more as I can’t download the toolbox or get the link obviously off the UK Toyota homepage.

The map update is far better and the autozoom is great.
    Look forward to your reply.
    Kind regards

    Wayne

    1. Hi Wayne,
The new version of the customer portal has been designed to be easier to use, however we appreciate your feedback and will pass this on to the relevant team. Something we feel may be confusing is that the system has recently linked the “My Toyota” registration page to the T&G customer portal log-in page. This can give the impression that you have to re-register, which you do not.
To access the T&G section of the Toyota.co.uk website you can either scroll to the bottom of the home page and pick the “Toyota Touch Multimedia System” under the “Cars” heading, or click on the “Owners” tab at the top of the home page then select “Toyota Touch and Go” in the “owners Info” section. Once in the T&G page you can either click on the “Owners” logo or scroll down to and then click on the “Register and manage your touch multimedia system” box. This redirects you to the customer portal but it now has an “Account Activation” pop-up over the log-in screen, this activation is for the TGB My Toyota portal and can be cancelled to gain access to the T&G customer portal log-in screen.
Hope this helps and thank you again for your comments, we do appreciate it and will go to making an even better system for everyone.
      Kind regards.

  2. Done some more testing on TB install/uninstall problem….
Found out that if workingdir is on a SSD(Solid State Disk) TB does NOT work regardless of disk letter…..
On a non SSD, F:toyotaworkingdir and G:toyotaworkingdir are OK. USB-stick with H:toyotaworkingdir is OK, works all the time.

Try the USB-stick, just be patient USB is a bit slow!

    Johnny

  3. Many thanks Steve and Johnny.

That could be my problem as have replaced my hard disk with an SSD a while ago on the laptop being used.

    Regards to both, Richard.

  4. Thanks for the Toolbox link Mark.

I have tried installing on an USB stick but sadly same problem, it is not responding – even with removing ” !_fbxa_$.dsxml “.

Oliwer any chance of trying to motivate Toyota Europe to finally resolve our continual problem with the Toolbox as it is absorbing so much of our time attempting to fix the problem ourselves and has gone on for weeks, even months.

    1. Hi Richard,
I hear you, and have fed back all of these comments to TME. We will discuss these internally and will, as you say, make sure we push to get a response for customers from Europe. Apologies that you’re having to go through this and due to customer feedback we’ll work to make this simpler for everyone.
      Many thanks.

  5. Johnny, Good idea, I have changed the working directory to the usb stick, as long as the stick is plugged in before opening toolbox it seems to open fine and work well, even doing an important system update (now I have ‘tomtom places’) :-0

  6. How do you get the measurements to stay and not keep converting back. I set it up to measure in miles and when i turn the car off it automatically switches back to kilometers, 2012 Verso?

    1. Hi John,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us.
We advise contacting your local Toyota Dealer as they’ll be able to see first hand the issue and to help you with a fix. Here’s the link to find your local dealership: http://bit.ly/16WmR5P.
      Hope this helps.

    1. Hi David,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us.
We have spoken with our technical team and they have looked into this. The 14 digit code is only applicable to some models with Touch & Go, however, we suggest you contact your local Toyota dealer to find out exactly which vehicles are applicable to DAB. You can find your local Toyota dealer by visiting: http://bit.ly/16WmR5P.
      Hope this helps,
      Many thanks.

  7. Has anyone had problems with the USB media source starting to play without being activated? I have had to remove the stick for the time being, is it a USB stick fault or a unit fault? The unit occasionally displays that the USB power consumption is too high even when it is off.

    1. Hi Mark,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us, we’re sorry to hear you’re having problems with your USB audio source.
We suspect you may have the software version 1.7.9 as there has been a reported glitch in this version which can cause the audio system to switch into USB audio mode. Regarding the power consumption, this sounds unusual, it could be a USB issue. Can we suggest you try another USB stick.
      Hope this helps,
      Many thanks.

      1. Hi Kerry, Appreciate the response, my software is 2.7.4H, will try another usb stick and see how it goes

  8. On my old style Yaris it was possible to have the radio in silent mode and simply pick up the occasional traffic broadcasts. This worked well even in Europe. I have just completed an 1800 mile run down to the French Alps for a two week holiday in the latest version and I cannot get the system to give me traffic broadcasts. The TA setting is on but it seems to make no difference.

    Any advice please?

Overall the satnav system worked well although the rather bossy woman who lives inside had some highly original ideas in places like Reims where she was all in favour of heading the wrong way down one way streets.

Satnav traffic info worked well but it would be nice to be able to listen to local warnings when they are broadcast.

    1. Hi Rodney,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us.
We have liaised with our technical department, we understand that if Traffic Announcements are switched on and there are local stations broadcasting applicable traffic announcements, the audio unit should switch to the announcements automatically. To have the radio switched off and still hear the traffic announcements we believe the best way to achieve this would be to turn the volume down rather than switching the audio off, the volume should then increase to an audible level when a traffic announcement is received.
      Many thanks.
