Toyota Touch 2
Got a question about the new Toyota Touch 2 system – being rolled out across various Toyota models in 2014 – then take a look at our dedicated Touch 2 section by clicking the link below.
I just purchased a 2012 Yaris TR.
When trying to register on myToyota it asks for a device ID.
Manual says this should be on Setup->General->SystemInformation.
However there is no SystemInformation option on Setup->General, nor is there a scroll button for further options.
Hi Dave,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us.
To enable us to direct you to the correct department, could we please ask you to clarify whether your query is regarding MyToyota or the Touch and Go Multimedia System? If this is a MyToyota question could we please have your vehicle reg number and MyToyota Registration No. if you have one. Please email this to toyota.contact@tgb.toyota.co.uk.
Many thanks,
Toyota UK.
Kerry,
It’s both really.
The Add vehicle form on myToyota requires a Device Id to be added.
The touchscreen in the Yaris doesn’t have a System Information option on the menu, which is how the form help and the FAQ tell you to find the Device Id.
Hi Dave,
In order for us to pass this onto the correct department they require your full name, and vehicle reg number. Please could you send this to toyota.contact@tgb.toyota.co.uk.
Many thanks,

Recently bought a used 12 plated TR diesel estate (facelift). Couple of questions on the touch & go that may be easier to find the answer here.
I use the car for my job so need the traffic announcements on however I can’t seem to switch back to the radio mid broadcast if it’s irrelevant or a repeat. On other cars I’ve driven it’s just a case of hitting the TP button & the audio system goes back to the set station / input until the next broadcast however with the Avensis the only way I can find is to switch the audio system off then back on again, is there another way?
The display contrast and brightness are easily adjusted however when the headlights are on the the display dims, not a problem at night but in daylight this is too dim to see the display clearly, is there a way to adjust the night time setting?
Similar issue on the instruments, the adjuster goes from bright to a mid level in one step then can be dimmed from a mid point, is this a fault or by design?
Other than that it’s returning 53 – 54 to the gallon on average or 5 to 6 more than the 1.6 TDCi focus it replaced in similar driving conditions although there’s a fair bit more cabin noise at lower speeds.
Cheers for any help.
Dave
Hi Dave,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us.
We have liaised with our technical department to address your questions.
To cancel and exit a traffic announcement we suggest pressing the mode button on your steering wheel.
Changing the mode setting in the ‘map settings menu’ to Day Mode will give a lighter background. The contrast and brightness can also be adjusted within three separate modes.
With regards to the instrument adjustments, this is by design not fault, and sounds like normal operation.
Hope this helps, and if you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Many thanks,
Toyota UK.
Just purchased Auris HSD 2012 April and the audio system has no system info menu, how do I register this and which audio system have I got.
No lines in camera, no car button and says no nav installed – not time to go back to garage so I thought I would ask the experts.
Also audio manual has nothing to do with one installed except for some things.
Hi Denis,
Thank you for getting in touch with us.
Our technical team have advised that your vehicle may not have navigation, this is the ‘Go’ element in Touch and Go. In this case the connect services would not be available so you do not need to register it. Camera lines are not a feature on your Auris.
The Manual is split into two sections, the front is for vehicles with Toyota Touch, and the rear is for vehicles with Toyota Touch and Go. If we are correct, your vehicle will apply to the front of the manual (Toyota Touch).
Hope this helps and if you have any other questions let us know, we’re here to help.

Hi all,
I’m from Sweden and a happy owner of an Auris 2013. But I’m was not happy about how T&G Toolbox works, until I found a solution that maybe will work for Steve, Mark and others that has to uninstall/install TB to run it properly.
The problem is the file or the path to the file “ !_fbxa_$.dsxml “ which is located in TB working directory, C:…. toyotaworkingdirconfig. If you delete that file between each session TB will start properly but that’s not an easy or good way to solve the problem.
After some “hacking” I found the following fix to make TB work, try it!
1) Uninstall TB.
2) Install TB.
3) Start TB.
4) Go directly to Settings, Folder settings. You will find the working directory to be C:…..toyotaworkingdir.
5) Change working directory to anything else than partition C:. You can choose another partition on the same hard disk as C:, you can choose a partition on another hard disk, if you have one in your computer. You can even use the USB-stick you use for your car as working directory! But as pointed out don’t use C:.
6) Close TB.
7) Start TB.
Hopefully you will have no problem to start TB anymore, I haven’t, it works every time!
Please give feedback here if it works or not, to me this bug should definitely have been solved by now.
BR
Johnny
Hi Johnny,
I have deleted the file as you suggest (“ !_fbxa_$.dsxml “ ) the toolbox program now opens each and every time, thank you so much for your intervention I’m sure we all appreciate your advice.
Re Steve’s comments on 8th June I have total empathy with him as experienced the very same problems well over a month ago and was similarly assured Toyota were looking into it! How long does it take, come on put some urgency into rectifying the problem and attempt to satisfy customers.
I find the SatNav not user friendly and not a patch on TomTom or Garmin, the latter I tend to use in preference. The user interface is not straight forward enough. I have recently used an Audi A4 rental car which has a much more usable SatNav interface.
I have tried to add a trip or two to the Portal and find it takes quite a finite time (tens of minutes) before it appears, also limited to 1 POI per trip!
I remain very unimpressed and disappointed in the functionality in my Plug In Prius (my 4th, and now, probably last Prius), especially loosing the reversing camera guide marks (incredibly useful they were) and SatNav directions on the Heads Up Display. This is NOT progress Toyota.
Hello Richard,
Thank you for taking the time to write on our blog.
We’re sorry that you’re not happy with the usability and functionality of the T&G system. We do appreciate your feedback and this has been passed to the team for their consideration.
Many thanks.
Excellent advice for a fix from Johnny from Sweden below to all our toolbox problems. But now I have uninstalled it I cannot find a link to reinstall the application (even using search words).
Some kind soul please provide the link!
Why is nothing simple with these Toyota functions?
Thanks.
Sadly don’t get too excited!! I had the toolbox working fine, then it stopped when I tried it a few hours later, despite several re-installs and following Johnny’s instructions it only opens properly once in 10 attempts. This is so poor Toyota.
OK great whilst it lasted. For Toyota’s legal team, is this not misrepresentation of a service you offer?
Good point Mark, maybe we should initiate a Group Action legal challenge to get some response as they are so inept in resolving these problems. According to my Dealer the majority of their customers don’t bother to even attempt to use these functions. I guess any that do globally give up trying after finding them so user unfriendly or unworkable.
However, I would still appreciate a link to the Toolbox, so well hidden unable to relocate where it is – cannot remember as so long ago. Even the Toyota online Help Chat guy could not assist or find it and referred me to Customer Relations – would you credit it!?
Richard, This should work.
Go to http://www.my.toyota.eu/ and login. Then choose e-Store. Click on for any of the Featured Apps (eg Weather) and you should then be presented with a link to download/install Toolbox.
Still myself having trouble with the uninstall/reinstall ‘feature’. It’s becoming an almost daily feature of life… Can’t wait to have another go.
Correction: “Class Action”, not Group Action.
Richard,
Looks like the critical bit of my reply to your request for a way-in to the Toolbox d/l got lost in the ether. It should read:-
Go to http://www.my.toyota.eu/ and login. Then choose e-Store. Click on More Information for any of the Featured Apps (eg Weather) and you should then be presented with a link to download/install Toolbox.
