  1. Hi
First – Kudos to Amy, Ollie their manager(S) and Toyota UK for supporting this effort to stay connected with customers on Touch & Go System. User Experience of Touch & Go Toolbox and other areas do need to improve however without this opportunity to connect, things would be worse.

    1) Will Touch & Go Toolbox work on Windows 8
    2) If NOT, how soon will it be supported and in the meantime, can the local dealer help with updating the map?

    Thank you,

    Challenged

    1. Hi Challenged!
Thank you for your kind words, we appreciate it!
We’ll look into your questions and get back to you as soon as we can.
      Many thanks.

    2. Hello again Challenged,
We’ve just had confirmation that the tool box is compatible with Windows 8.
Do remember that your Dealer will always be able to assist, first hand, with the T&G system. Feel free to pop in and they’ll run anything past you. We do hope this helps, do let us know if we can help further.
      Enjoy your week!

  2. I have just taken delivery of a Plug In Prius so on a learning curve again. This replaced my Prius T-Spirit sunroof model.

First disappointment is that the reversing camera does NOT display the guidelines, these I found very useful with the T-Spirit. Is there a malfunction as I certainly would have expected this basic, and very useful, feature with such an expensive car?

I am struggling to connect the car’s Touch and Go with the internet. Tethered to my Blackberry Curve 9810 and Bluetooth connect works fine. I have installed the Toolbox on my PC and connected the fingerprint USB, but now whenever I initiate the programme it does not respond – circle timer running continually. I did reinstall but same result. I have not reconnected the USD to the vehicle.

What APN do I use for the Internet? Is this http://www.my.toyota.eu with relevant Username and password? My Blackberry is on an O2 monthly contract and they advised me to use Toyota but it does not connect.

Your help on the above points would be much appreciated as getting frustrated “going around in circles” – like the timer!

    Thanks.

  3. Sorted out the lighting issue – an option under display settings that only appears when the lights are on called ‘Day Mode’ – when you switch off the lights, the options disappears!! That’s darned stupid if you ask me.

  4. Login problem for Touch & Go internet access solved. I was totally misled by O2 Guru who stated it was the Toyota APN details (Access Point Name). Another Guru gave me the correct details i.e. Username o2wap; password (yes password!) and APN wap.o2.co.uk – worked like a dream.

So outstanding problem is Toolbox programme not responding and feedback on no Rear View Monitor Guide Lines.

I have just noted Raymond’s entry 7 April similar!

    1. Hi Richard,
      Many thanks for your comments.
The reversing guide lines aren’t available on all grades of Touch & Go systems and we’re sorry that you’re missing them on your current model.
Thank you for raising awareness of the issue you’re having with the Toolbox programme. We understand there may have been some intermittent connection issues recently. We’ve raised this with the relevant department to investigate.
      Many thanks and kind regards.

  5. My local Dealer was contacted by Toyota Technical (as apparently they are not “customer facing”) with instructions for the Toolbox installation etc., but this was exactly what I had been doing.

If I uninstall then reinstall the Toolbox it works 1st time with the USB memory stick – I have used it to download the Weather App to my car. However, when the Toolbox is subsequently opened it does not respond (“Connected to update server. Waiting for device”) – no different if USB memory stick inserted. When closing the Toolbox down, Windows message trying to find solution, then: “Navigation content manager is not responding”.

The work around of uninstalling and reinstalling the Toolbox is quite a pain if this has to be done every time I wish to use it.

On another subject I am very disappointed that the reversing camera guidelines have been confirmed as not available on the high end of range Plug In Prius (they were on my T-Spirit). I have also just realised that SatNav directions are also not available on the Heads Up display – another useful feature on my T-Spirit. Come on Toyota, what is the logic of omitting these? Highly disappointed so give me my T-Sprit back!

  6. Hello

I have just purchased a GT86 with the Touch and Go NAV unit. I am looking to buy the latest iPod Touch (5th Geneneration) however it does not appear to be listed in the iPod compatibility list. Can anyone confirm/deny that when connected via USB the iPod Touch 5G will work with the Touch and Go in my GT86 in terms of being able to control the tracks, browse artist/album/playlist/etc, view album art?

    Many Thanks

    Simon

  7. We have just purchased a Toyota Yaris TR with the basic Touch system (no sat nav) my wife connected her I pod no problem- she browsed through her albums on the I phone (I phone 4) then after a while the browse button disappeared and we cant get it back….now when it gets to the end of an album it just picks a random song…help please

    1. Hi Jon,
We’re sorry you’ve had some trouble with this.
Could we ask how you are connecting your phone to the system? If the connection is via Bluetooth then the option to Browse isn’t available with the iPod or iPhone.
We hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
      Many thanks.

  8. Hi, I have a Yaris trend 62 plate touch and go. When using the T&G toolbox it works fine for the first time but will not load on any subsequent attempts. The USB is not recognised and therefore the toolbox will not initiate. If I uninstall and reinstall the toolbox it will work for one time only. Any ideas on how to fix this please?

    1. Hi Ian,
      We’re sorry you’ve experienced a problem here.
As this question is related to the toolbox, you must submit your question through the ‘download’ section of the Toyota Touch&Go portal. You can log-in to the portal here: http://ow.ly/kiaZt.
We’re sorry we cannot help further through the Toyota Blog.
      Kind regards.

  9. I have recently purchased a Yaris TR.I am finding that contacts that are on my phones sim card will not transfer to the Toyota Go via bluetooth.Anything not on the sim card have auto transferred.

Also album cover artwork is not appearing…but is ok on the other recently purchased Yaris TR in the household.

    Can you advise.

    1. Hi Graham,
Sorry you’re having a couple of problems here.
Although difficult to tell exactly what may be at fault here, without seeing the system, we would first suggest you re-start the connection to see if that does make a difference. Simply try to re-pair the phone to your car.
Your Toyota Dealer would be best placed to help as they’ll be able to see, first hand, the problems you’re having, and help you find a fix. Please find their contact details here: http://ow.ly/kw8lM. Sorry we can’t help much further from here but you’re in good hands with your Dealer.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your loyalty to Toyota.
      Kind regards.

  10. Touch and Go Plus, on my new Prius T-Spirit, couple of problems, firstly the reversing camera has no guidelines (is this correct) I also have reversing sensors fitted. Next one is the unit doesn’t recognise mp3 folder burnt onto a cd-r disc, surely this can’t be right but I had the same problem with this on my demo car?

    1. Hello Mark,
There are no lines on the reversing camera of the current generation of Prius, this is correct.
We suspect that the CD-R issue is a compatibility issue with the way the disc has been written and finalised. It could also be the MP3 Bit rate or sampling frequency. Details of what is playable can be found in the “Audio System Operation” section of the owners manual.
We hope this helps, many thanks.
