Meanwhile, if you need help getting started with Touch & Go, you can watch our how-to videos here. Alternatively, you can register your system, here.

Q1 – Why can’t I find the device ID on my Touch & Go/Touch & Go+?

A – To obtain the device ID on Touch & Go or Touch & Go+ press the “Set up” hard button.  Touch the “General” button on the screen.  Scroll to the bottom screen and select Touch “System information”.  The device ID should now be visible on the screen.

For Toyota Touch Pro, press the “Set up” hard button, touch “Navigation” on the screen and then touch “Online search”.

Q2 – Why isn’t the device ID not recognised on the portal?

A – The device ID on T&G and T&G+ is a 26 digit code which can be made up of numbers letters and symbols. When the ID is entered on the customer portal it needs to be exactly as it shows on the T&G including observing upper and lower case and any symbols like underscores etc but without any spaces.

Q3 – Why don’t connected services work on my 2012 Toyota Prius, Land Cruiser, Land Cruiser V8 and Lexus GS, RX or CT?

A – Your device may not be compatible. A Bluetooth compatibility list for Toyota is available here and here for Lexus.

Q4 – Why is the address I want to navigate to missing?

A – The address could be missing from the mapping, unfortunately there is no way to guarantee that it will be added during the next update.

Q5 – Does my car have the latest map update?

A – You can view the latest available map version via the Downloads section of the T&G Toolbox.

Clicking on the map of Europe shopping trolley icon will show you the version information available, and whether or not you need to download.

Q6 – Do I have to pay for map updates?

A – All map updates are chargeable except for Touch & Go+. This system is supplied with “map care”, which provides 3 years of free map updates (up to a maximum of 6 updates).

Q7 – Do I need to take action if the date code of my new map is out of date?

A – No, the date format within the map ID is not a release date. This date is allocated to the map during the development process. Development of the map can take up to a year.

Q8 – Why won’t my phone connect to the Touch & Go Bluetooth?

A – Your phone may not be compatible. You can check compatibility for Toyota vehicles here, and Lexus vehicles here.

If your phone is listed as compatible but still won’t connect – try deleting the phone/Touch & Go pairing  and reconnecting.

Q9 – Why isn’t the music on my USB stick playing through Touch & Go?

A – There are quite specific requirements for what is “playable media”. You can find this information in the “Audio system operation” section of your owner’s manual.

If  your USB stick is compatible but the music is still not playing, there could be a fault with the stick and you should try another.

If no devices are recognised when you attempt to connect them via the vehicle USB port, there could be a connection issue. You will need to have this checked over by your dealer.

Q10 – How many map updates are there per year?

A – For Touch & Go and Touch & Go+, there are 2 updates per year. For Toyota Touch Pro, there is 1.

Q11 – My phone is listed as incompatible but works with Touch & Go, why?

A – Only devices that are fully compatible with Touch & Go are listed as compatible.  Some functions can work partially with certain phones, but these would not be listed.

  1. I have an Avensis Icon first registered March 2014. The Touch & Go map ID is EUL 2013 0409 and the Software 2.8.4L
My query is that I cannot find if this is the latest map edition on Toolbox. More importantly, should a more recent map be delivered on an 2014 car.
Could you list the current map and software versions with dates if possible ?

  2. Hi,
I’ve just picked up my new Auris Excel Hybrid. My phone (iPhone 5s) pairs fine and I can make and receive calls, access my contacts etc but when I go to messages it says “text messages not available”. How do I resolve this? Thanks.

    1. Hi Lizzie, thanks for getting in touch. We’ve spoken to our technical department, they recommend trying these few steps: Go to the settings section on your iPhone, click on bluetooth, then Touch and Go and change the show notifications from off to on. Any messages received whilst in the vehicle should now be visible. Do let us know how you get on. We hope this helps!

    1. Hi Tim
Thanks for your post and sorry for the delay in replying.
If you press the volume buttons during a call then this will increase the volume of the incoming call, if you are still having problems however, we do recommend that you contact your local Toyota dealer so they can check this further for you.

  3. Hi!
Are there anyway to store wifi password in touch 2 and go plus?
Every time i want it to connect to wifi network (same one) it asks for the password and to manually choose the network.
Is it possible to make it to connect to wifi automatically?

    1. Hi Alexander
      Thank you for your posts.
We have checked this with our technical team. They have advised that if you are connecting your phone to your car using the hotspot then the head unit in the car should retain your password. If however you have purchased the wifi hotspot accessory item then you would need to enter your password each time. We hope this helps clarify but let us know if you have any other questions.

  4. Hi, I have a Toyota Auris 2013 with Touch & Go.

    1. When will the new MAP update 2014 be available?
    2. I can not navigate to an address in my iPhone’s contact list. Is this solved in the latest firmware release?

    Thanks for your reply.

    1. Hello Emiel
      Thanks for your post.
We do not currently have information about when the new update will be available. As a guide there are two upgrades a year. If you are unsure then your local Toyota dealer can check which version you have for you. To answer your question though we could not say whether the upgrade would resolve the specific issue you mention because of the large amount of data involved across Europe. You would need to upgrade the system and then check whether this has worked.
      Hope this helps clarify.

  5. I have an Auris Excel Hybrid 2012. I am trying to update the maps, however when I insert the USB with a fingerprint installed into the PC, the Tool Box does not acknowledge its presence. Therefore I cannot sign in to download any updates

    1. Hi John, thanks for taking the time to contact us. Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your Map updates. Have you contacted your local Toyota dealer? Visit: po.st/hgeMjF for dealer contact information. If it’s easier for you, let us know your current Map system software and we’ll speak to our technical department in the New Year for you. Many thanks.

    2. Hi John
Thanks again for your post and sorry for the delay in replying.
We did run your query past our technical team who have asked if you can confirm which version of windows you are using? Let us know and we will run the result past them again.

  6. I am having the same problem, tried the PC software on Windows 7 64bit and Windows XP both report no USB Storage connected.

My 2014 Auris Excel unit is running software version 2.4.8L just in case the problem is with that.

I have tried five different USB Memory sticks all with the same result.

  7. Hi Ian
    Thanks for your post.
We have passed this information to our technical team and they have asked if you can briefly clarify the problem you are having. It sounds like your system is not recognising the USB sticks but if you can confirm they would be grateful.

    1. Having the same issue as John Bull & Ian. Running on PC with Win 7 64 bit. Tried many USB sticks (latest attempt om a brand new 16GB stick) but the toolbox do not recognising the stick.

      1. Hi Lasse
        Thanks for your post.
We have run this past our technical team who are talking to our European office about this. We will keep you posted as soon as we hear any news about the possible cause.

    2. Works tonight with no change at my end so I guess it must have been an issue upstream.

Your maps seem very expensive compared with offers available from vendors such as Garmin & TomTom.

      1. Thank you for your post Ian and for letting us know the outcome.
We will pass back your comment regarding the map updates cost to the product team. If you do have any further questions or queries regarding your system operation please let us know.

  8. I have a 2013 Rav4 Icon with the Touch system. When I insert a MP3 CD or USB with MP3 files on, the embedded artwork is not displayed. When I connect my iPod the artwork is displayed. Do I need to upgrade the firmware for the MP3 artwork to display?

    1. Hi Ian
      Thanks for your post.
We did run this past our technical team who have confirmed that artwork is not displayed when using an MP3 USB or CD and a software update would not change this. Hope this helps clarify but let us know if you have any other questions.

      1. Hello Ian
        Thanks for your post.
We will need to check this further with our product team so if you can bear with us we will reply as soon as we have confirmed this.

      2. Hi Ian
The screen resolution would be 400 x 240.
Hope this helps and let us know if you have any other questions.

      3. Hi David,

can you please check for me,
what is the resolution of the screen in Touch & Go 2
        in Avensis 2014.

I would like to optimize the size of the artwork displayed
from MP3 files on a pendrive.

        So, more precise question is,
what is the size (in pixels) of the rectangle on the screen,
        where artwork is displayed.

        Kind regards,
        Emu

      4. Hi Emu,
We’ve had to contact the supplier to find out this information. As soon as we hear back we will let you know 🙂 Hope this helps!

      5. Hi Emu,
Toyota Europe came back and informed us that: The picture size is 800 x 480 pixel and the screen resolution is for 6,1 inch displays: 149 dpi
OR 7 en 8 inch displays: 116 dpi. Hope this helps 🙂

  9. Hi there,

Is it still not possible to see Folders when i use an USB?
I have an Auris TS 2014 Aspiration.
And how can i solve my problem otherwise, if it cant see folders?
    Thanks!

    1. Hi JP
Further to our reply on Friday our tech team have had the opportunity to look at this. They have confirmed that the folders are not visible on the system. In order to link tracks and albums the media data will need to be set on the tracks.
      Hope this helps clarify.
