Toyota is pleased to announce that owners of Corolla and RAV4 models produced since *2019 now have the possibility of an upgrade to their Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system to include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mobile integration.

Compatible vehicles for Apple CarPlay upgrade:

  • MY19 Corolla in all body styles and grades
  • MY19 and MY20 RAV4 all grades excluding Icon

This multimedia upgrade allows owners to access the services included in their mobile phone on the multimedia display screen and action them through voice activation or by manually prompting through the steering wheel controls or touchscreen itself. In this way they will be able to safely enjoy applications such as Google Maps, Spotify, Amazon Music, WhatsApp and Waze without the need to directly interact with their mobile phone.

The Apple CarPlay and Android Auto upgrade for compatible vehicles will be carried out by appointment at your local Toyota centre. Toyota recommends that owners arrange to have the upgrade installed during a scheduled service.

* Depending on vehicle and specification, Toyota has installed its enhanced multimedia system as standard equipment since the 2020 model year. This means that vehicles with this system always feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.

      1. Hi recently picked up Corolla 2020 plate but can’t seem to work out CarPlay? Can you advise if this is installed or what would be needed to do so?

  1. I have a RAV4 MY21 and have Apple Carplay. Can I use Apple Carplay with my iPhone by connecting with Bluetooth only. Not by USB cable? Need to connect every time when get into the car.
    Once drove on Argo X, my iPhone can connect to Apple Carplay automatically every time I got into the car after setup.

      Apple CarPlay is likely only available on your vehicle via a wired connection.

      Your Corolla is equipped with Apple CarPlay as standard. It will require a wired connection to your phone in order to work.

      1. Hi thanks for getting back to me, when setting up I don’t get a prompt to enable car play just simple connect via Bluetooth

        I am able to come t via Bluetooth and play music and make calls etc but not full use of CarPlay as in apps showing etc

        Can you advise please
