Toyota is pleased to announce that owners of Corolla and RAV4 models produced since *2019 now have the possibility of an upgrade to their Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system to include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mobile integration.
Compatible vehicles for Apple CarPlay upgrade:
- MY19 Corolla in all body styles and grades
- MY19 and MY20 RAV4 all grades excluding Icon
This multimedia upgrade allows owners to access the services included in their mobile phone on the multimedia display screen and action them through voice activation or by manually prompting through the steering wheel controls or touchscreen itself. In this way they will be able to safely enjoy applications such as Google Maps, Spotify, Amazon Music, WhatsApp and Waze without the need to directly interact with their mobile phone.
The Apple CarPlay and Android Auto upgrade for compatible vehicles will be carried out by appointment at your local Toyota centre. Toyota recommends that owners arrange to have the upgrade installed during a scheduled service.

* Depending on vehicle and specification, Toyota has installed its enhanced multimedia system as standard equipment since the 2020 model year. This means that vehicles with this system always feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.
I have just bought a second hand 19 plate Corolla reg CX19 LLJ, it was listed and still is on the Toyota spec auto load as having apple car play as standard, the Toyota main dealer I bought it from said it had car play but could make it work so I am guessing I need the £50 software flush,
Firstly will the software update/flush defo work and secondly how is this fair? They should change the listing on the icon tech spec at toyota

Your Corolla is eligible for the Apple CarPlay upgrade, it does not come with it as standard.
This can be fitted at your local Toyota Centre for an additional charge.

Well it’s been 5 days since my complaint and just as I thought nobody has got back to me. Absolutely disgusting behaviour on Toyota UK part. You really do not care about your customers. Toyota Japan need to do something about this.

2. Toyota Australia is offering this upgrade FREE for RAV4 owners, then Why Toyota UK is charging £50 pounds to RAV4 owners?

Android Auto does not come as standard with your RAV4.
However, it can be retrofitted by your nearest Toyota Centre.
