    1. Hi Nicky,
Thanks for getting in touch. Unfortunately, this is not a statistic we have for the new Auris. We suggest speaking with your Local Dealer once the car is available in showrooms later this year.
Sorry we are not able to help more at this stage.
      Many thanks.

  1. I am amazed you can spend £22k on a new Auris which I am keen to do and that would make me a new Toyota owner but why oh why can’t you have cruise control if you chose diesel spec this makes no sense!!, VW have no such problem if you want a Golf and when will the new modern BMW diesel engines be available to Auris buyers the current diesel offering is looking very long in the tooth???

  2. Hi Rob,
Unfortunately cruise control on the diesel model simply isn’t available to us in the UK. We’ve already fed-back to our counterparts in Europe and Japan as we would have liked this as an option however, as stated, this isn’t the case. We’re very sorry to not be able to offer this to our customers however the grades and specs of models, we feel, is high and we very much hope this won’t be a factor in your decision making.
If you do need any more advice or would like to go and see the vehicle (coming soon!) then please contact your Local Dealer to discuss, they’ll be able to help you further – http://ow.ly/eW0DV.
    Many thanks and kind regards.

    1. But Oliwer, can you understand why Mr Smith is frustrated? He mentioned VW, but it’s the same with Nissan. You can have a Qashqai or a Juke in virtually any combination of engine and trim you like. None of this ‘yes, you can have that, but not if you want that too’ nonsense that you get with Toyota. I have been a Toyota driver for many years, I genuinely don’t want to switch, but lately Toyota seem to be forcing me to at least consider other options.

  3. Sorry you feel this way, Thomas. We do try to vary the options as much as is commercially viable. Needless to say, with the launch of the New Auris and the New Auris Hybrid we are offering competitive specifications along with a focus on both comfort and economy. With the Auris Hybrid you’ll also have the very latest in Toyota Hybrid Technology too.
If you do have any questions about our latest models we’ll help as much as we can and very much hope that we can help you find the right Toyota for you in the future! We’re delighted to hear you’ve been a loyal Toyota customer.
Many thanks and we hope you have a good weekend.

  4. Oliwer,
very disappointed with your reply and no response to the BMW diesel issue.Totally agree with Thomas, I am prepared to pay and fully spec any car I buy, and for Toyota sales/marketing in Japan/Europe to be satisfied that customers can spend £22k+ but are deprived of a choice of lets face it a basic feature, cruise control, is not good enough for a world class manufaturer supposedly competing head on with VW Golf and other very serious competitors in this crowded segment as Mr Toyoda has stated is the intention.

  5. When will we have more info on the new Auris. It is supposed to be in the showrooms from Dec. 3rd which is not long. Surely there should be a proper brochure by now. Also when will we be able to use the ‘configure’ facility on the website for it?

  6. Hi Sam,
    Thanks for your message.
December the 3rd is the date when you’ll be able to see the cars in your Local Dealer! We are also planning on launching the car configure facility on the same date. We will be sharing further details about the new Auris as and when we can here, on the Toyota Blog, so do keep checking back for the very latest news.
    Wishing you all the best.

  7. All I can see is the new hybrid looks fantastic, and I will be purchasing a brand new ‘Luxury’ (as they call the current model higher spec in Ireland) as soon as it is available.

I came here to ask questions regarding HID lights, but since Ireland would be a different market to UK, I’m not sure you’d be able to answer!

    1. Hi Alfonso,
We’ll happily try and answer your question however, you may find it useful to speak directly with your Local Dealer in Ireland. Here’s the link to their website: http://www.toyota.ie/.
They’ll be able to go through specifics with you.
      Many thanks.

      1. I have just one question regarding promotional prices for the Auris, I have seen in Italian and Spanish motoring sites that Toyota will be offering discounts for the new Auris during the first months of 2013. Is there any such discount/promotional price planned to be available in UK?

  8. Seen the basic model but the hybrid version not yet in our local showroom. My wife is of small stature and couldn’t get sufficient height from the driving seat, is she still going to have this problem with the hybrid models? Is the leather seats option any better in this respect?

Reference the comments on the lack of cruise control in certain versions, is dealer retro-fit not possible?

    regards, John.

    1. Hi John,
The new Auris is the same as the Auris Hybrid in terms of size and, more specifically, the front seats and height. Cruise control isn’t available to retro-fit I’m afraid.
      We hope this helps.

    2. Thank you Oliver. You didn’t answer the query about the leather seat option, will this give us the extra height my wife requires to drive the car? If it doesn’t this sale is dead in the water. I realise this is only available on the top model.

      Regards, John.
