Since the first Yaris was launched in 1999, each new generation of the car has been developed according to the same concept: compact outside, yet roomy inside. In the video below, Toyota Motor Corporation’s head of design, Dezi Nagaya, refers to Yaris as “Piccolo Genio” or “Little Genius”. With its all-new design, the next generation Yaris is smarter than ever…
It’s all to do with sharp new looks and smart new technology. The car’s overall length is just 100mm longer than the previous Yaris, which means new Yaris remains one of the most compact models in its class. This is reflected in a class-leading turning circle of 4.7 metres, which makes for agile city driving.
The overall width remains unchanged, while the height has been reduced, giving the car a lower centre of gravity and a sportier stance. Inside, the optional panoramic roof adds to the feeling of space, while the high-spec Toyota Touch & Go brings class-leading touchscreen multimedia connectivity to the Yaris range.
Facts and figures aside, the all-new Yaris looks great and is more appealing than ever – we can’t wait to see it on the road in the UK. To find out more, visit www.toyota.co.uk/newyaris.
