Toyota has revealed the new Yaris GR Sport, the latest addition to the multi-award-winning Yaris family. The Yaris GR Sport joins the Yaris hatchback, the 2021 European Car of the Year and the performance-focused, World Rally-inspired GR Yaris.
The GR Sport is available with Toyota’s 1.5-litre self-charging hybrid electric powertrain. The front and rear suspension systems have been upgraded on the Yaris GR Sport, with the shock absorbers optimised to react quicker at lower speeds, improving steering response and ride comfort. The rear springs have been tuned to suppress body tilt or wheel lift under acceleration and braking.
The car’s body rigidity has been strengthened with additional underfloor bracing on each side, improving handling and stability. Aerodynamic performance has also been addressed with additional liners in the front and rear wheel arches to reduce drag.
The Yaris GR Sport is fitted with bespoke 18-inch alloy wheels, distinguished by red accent lines that reinforce the model’s Gazoo Racing association. The front grille has a new mesh design featuring a “G” motif pattern and at the rear, there is a new T-shaped rear diffuser. Customers have the option of a new Dynamic Grey exterior paint finish that’s exclusive to the model.
The Gazoo Racing theme continues inside with GR logos on the steering wheel, headrests, starter button and driver’s instrument display. The seats have a new cloth upholstery with red accent stitching; (there is also the option of Ultrasuede™. Red stitchwork is also featured on the perforated leather steering wheel trim and gear shift. There is new GR Sport-exclusive gunmetal silver trim on the door panels, side air vents and steering wheel.

I like the Yaris GR I was impressed with the look of it and I like the 5 door Yaris I have one I was hoping Toyota would do a 5 door Yaris GR

Hi… Ive just ordered a yaris ( dynamic) model through our lease company knowles fleet which we use at the NHS, but have seen online it’s been replaced with the GR Sport. Will they inform me it is now unavailable and allow mw to pick the GR Sport.. Many thanks.

With the Yaris now produced in France and the Czech Republic, for the UK market which trim levels (including the GR Sport) come from France and which from the Czech Republic?
Is it a different criteria that decides where a Yaris is made, for example any with sunroofs must come from France?

As the GR Sport is replacing the Design, will this new trim level have the sunroof option?
Also I was trying to understand the current price list, I think the Yaris comes with a spare wheel as standard but if the sunroof is specified the wheel is replaced by a tyre repair kit? If I have understood correctly what has a sunroof got to do with a spare wheel?

Final details of the Yaris Hybrid GR Sport specification will be announced in due course. As for the Panoramic Roof, this option replaces the spare wheel with a TRK as the combined weight of the Pan roof and spare wheel would negatively impact Co2 emissions.

Hi Gary. I managed to order a Yaris GR Sport on Friday (although it was a bit of a struggle for the dealer to get the paperwork through)
Why did they have trouble what’s the issue
I have been contacted about this vehicle by my dealership and I am very interested but I need to know what options are available on the build eg trim, colours and wheels. When will this go on the main Toyota website as I notice the Launch Edition is no longer there and this is the replacement for it.

The Yaris GR Sport was on the Toyota Website and car configurator last week (and I managed to save a completed build to my MyToyota profile, but it’s now disappeared and I can’t access the saved build any more. Why is this please? (Note – I actually ordered a Yaris GR Sport from the dealer in Maidstone last Friday so I’m slightly concerned that the model appears to have disappeared).
