The all-new Toyota Auris has been shown for the first time at the Paris Motor Show.

The stylish family hatchback will cost from £14,495 when it goes on sale in the UK this December.
Unveiling the car alongside the new Auris Touring Sports, Didier Leroy, President and CEO of Toyota Motor Europe, said: “It features a more dynamic exterior – with the bolder more confident design being the first full execution of the new face of Toyota. Built in our plant in the UK we expect the new Auris to be the new ‘centre of gravity’ for Toyota in Europe.

“Everywhere you look you see that Auris is a great example of always making better cars.”
The new Auris will be available in 16 versions across four new grades.
The line-up will comprise entry-level Active trim, mid-range Icon and Sport models, and flagship Excel. The engine range will include 1.33 Dual VVT-i and 1.6 Valvematic petrol and 1.4 D-4D diesel units. The petrol-electric Auris Hybrid with Hybrid Synergy Drive will also be available at launch.
Pricing for each is shown here. More detailed specifications were revealed earlier in September.
Auris Hybrid uses an E-CVT automatic., while all other cars are fitted with a six-speed manual transmission. Toyota’s Multidrive S CVT automatic is offered as an option on the 1.6 Valvematic.
The 1.33 Dual VVT-i engine will be available in Active and Icon grades; the 1.6 Valvematic in Icon, Sport and Excel; and the 1.4 D-4D in all trims. Auris Hybrid will be offered in Icon and Excel versions.
All new Auris will be equipped as standard with seven airbags, a new follow-me-home lighting system, Hill-start Assist Control, Vehicle Stability Control and LED daytime running lights.

It’s a shame that toyota have stuck to such a bland colour palate for the release of this new model – the Japanese website shows it in brilliant blue, orange and red colours which suits it a lot more than this menopausal grey – beige colour!
Toyota you’ve styled it well unlike the old one but for the love of god, add some colour; not everyone in the UK is over 60!
I agree with the above get some colour
Toyota i am 43 and bought a lot of cars from your goodselves however you only cater for older drivers. Get some TSI models in brighter colours you lot really need to lighten up. Have you seen Seat FR models come on get your thinking caps on I aint ready for a flat cap and tweed yet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Crikey Gents! I’m glad it’s not just me that thinks they need to liven it up!
Building on what they’ve said, I’m only 23 and I’m really enjoying the design rehash Toyota are doing but I do get ridiculed as when I went to show my mates what a good job of the styling Toyota had done on the new Auris, the colour made them say that it reminded them of a car their granddad would drive! – They could not believe the difference when I showed them the car on the Japanese website!
PLEASE do a 3 door model (even Hyundai have cottoned onto that niche in the market) and PLEASE liven it up with the colours!
Give us the colours you paint it in Japan – there is no point in making it better to drive if you give it a pipe and slippers image!
