Toyota is pleased to announce that owners of Corolla and RAV4 models produced since *2019 now have the possibility of an upgrade to their Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system to include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mobile integration.
Compatible vehicles for Apple CarPlay upgrade:
- MY19 Corolla in all body styles and grades
- MY19 and MY20 RAV4 all grades excluding Icon
This multimedia upgrade allows owners to access the services included in their mobile phone on the multimedia display screen and action them through voice activation or by manually prompting through the steering wheel controls or touchscreen itself. In this way they will be able to safely enjoy applications such as Google Maps, Spotify, Amazon Music, WhatsApp and Waze without the need to directly interact with their mobile phone.
The Apple CarPlay and Android Auto upgrade for compatible vehicles will be carried out by appointment at your local Toyota centre. Toyota recommends that owners arrange to have the upgrade installed during a scheduled service.

* Depending on vehicle and specification, Toyota has installed its enhanced multimedia system as standard equipment since the 2020 model year. This means that vehicles with this system always feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.
Hello, I’ve just updated the software on my 2019 Toyota corolla HG19 ***, it has android auto and apple play in the settings, but I can’t seem to connect my phone. Is my car compatible, is there something else I need to be doing?

Different dealers are quoting different price, on below comment Mike was quoted only 50gbp for car play upgrade, where as I was quoted 150 for car firmware update and 200 for the car play
I would like to ask toyota. As this software only update, is it not supposed to be free.
If toyota decides it’ not to be free, is it not supposed to be uniform throughout the country
I was quoted total 350gbp by jemca toyota Edgware London.

Hi, i have a 2019 RAV4 and I have been quoted £50 for CarPlay if done with service, then told I need to pay another £150 on top for my Sat Nav to be updated, so £200 in total. Once I have CarPlay I don’t need the sat nav updated so a complete waste of money, seems a con to me.

I am extremely frustrated that I couldn’t install Android Auto or CarPlay on my 2021 RAV4 despite the maunal claiming they were standard features in my model. I took it to Steven Eagell Toyota Cambridge and was informed that these features are not compatible with my car model. Is there is a timeline for when they might become available?
