Toyota is pleased to announce that owners of Corolla and RAV4 models produced since *2019 now have the possibility of an upgrade to their Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system to include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mobile integration.
Compatible vehicles for Apple CarPlay upgrade:
- MY19 Corolla in all body styles and grades
- MY19 and MY20 RAV4 all grades excluding Icon
This multimedia upgrade allows owners to access the services included in their mobile phone on the multimedia display screen and action them through voice activation or by manually prompting through the steering wheel controls or touchscreen itself. In this way they will be able to safely enjoy applications such as Google Maps, Spotify, Amazon Music, WhatsApp and Waze without the need to directly interact with their mobile phone.
The Apple CarPlay and Android Auto upgrade for compatible vehicles will be carried out by appointment at your local Toyota centre. Toyota recommends that owners arrange to have the upgrade installed during a scheduled service.

* Depending on vehicle and specification, Toyota has installed its enhanced multimedia system as standard equipment since the 2020 model year. This means that vehicles with this system always feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.

Does my corolla NU70DZP need the upgrade or would it have had it from the factory? Has the option under “preffered services” but when connecting my phone via the USB port under the heating controls my phone doesn’t pick up the system to connect, just wondering if its a fault or if it needs the update

I recently purchased 2019 Corolla and I’m impresses how much better is then the Auris I had before.
Only disappointed was that the car doesn’t have apple CarPlay. After checking my vin was confirmed that the car can be updated with car play at local dealership however I was quoted £300 for the update. I found that very disappointing as I believe should be a free update or a smaller fee as most of competitors has the option of CarPlay from before 2019 models.
How to upgrade Toyota Auris hybrid 2018 multimedia system to Android Auto? How much is the cost? Is it yearly or one time payment.

I’ve recently bought toyota RAV4 69 plate and realised that it didn’t came with android auto play. Just seen online for the quote £300!!
I believe it should be free update as most of the vehicle comes with android auto play free. Very disappointing

2019 Rav4 does not have android auto on the XLE Premium trim. The app does not show when USB connected into the system. Does this car have android auto?
