Toyota is pleased to announce that owners of Corolla and RAV4 models produced since *2019 now have the possibility of an upgrade to their Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system to include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mobile integration.
Compatible vehicles for Apple CarPlay upgrade:
- MY19 Corolla in all body styles and grades
- MY19 and MY20 RAV4 all grades excluding Icon
This multimedia upgrade allows owners to access the services included in their mobile phone on the multimedia display screen and action them through voice activation or by manually prompting through the steering wheel controls or touchscreen itself. In this way they will be able to safely enjoy applications such as Google Maps, Spotify, Amazon Music, WhatsApp and Waze without the need to directly interact with their mobile phone.
The Apple CarPlay and Android Auto upgrade for compatible vehicles will be carried out by appointment at your local Toyota centre. Toyota recommends that owners arrange to have the upgrade installed during a scheduled service.

* Depending on vehicle and specification, Toyota has installed its enhanced multimedia system as standard equipment since the 2020 model year. This means that vehicles with this system always feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.

When we added Apple CarPlay/Android Auto to our cars from the factory, there was a price increase to reflect the additional equipment fitted to the car. Customers who want the retrofit added are getting extra equipment and as a result, a fee is required, including labour rates for the centre.

Just taken delivery of a new bZ4X and disappointed to find that Android Auto is not compatible with my Google Pixel 6 Pro which weirdly works fine in our Aygo X.
Any plans to work with Google to fix this as the sat nav in the car is not great.

Hi. Does the £150 for the RAV 4 include the big CarPlay screen which is now coming in the 2023 model by default ? I’m confused with what’s included in the £150. Also do u upgrade the instrument cluster too, similar to the one now coming in the 2023 RAV IC.

Hi, I have a Toyota Rav 4 2019 Design and was told that I can have android auto activated for 50 pounds with the service. However, after the service, I was tild that the android auto can only be activated after updating the Sat nav for additional cost of 246 pounds..Is this really necessary..

Hi. Why did Corollas produce in 2018 were left out from this retrofit? Radio system is the same as current Corolla was not introduced until late 2019. Is there any plan to include a retrofit to Corollas produced in 2018? It is a shame that Toyota didn’t integrate Carplay in 2018 when other brands were introducing Carplay since 2014.
