Toyota C-HR service: all you need to know

Toyota C-HR service

If you want to make the most of your Toyota C-HR, then book a service at an official Toyota service centre. Keeping on top of maintenance means that your Toyota C-HR will be in the best of health, keeping you on the road for longer. And with years of experience in fixing and maintaining all Toyotas, your local service centre and its Toyota Technicians will be able to give your Toyota C-HR the attention it deserves.

The Toyota C-HR is a futuristic-looking compact SUV, and our Toyota centres have plenty of technology in their workshops to help keep it all working smoothly. Here we guide you through what you need to know about a Toyota C-HR service.

When is my Toyota C-HR service due?

Whether you own a Toyota C-HR powered by a 1.2-litre engine or either of the 1.8 or 2.0-litre hybrid models, service intervals are every 12 months or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. The services alternate between minor and major, with the former involving an oil and filter change and a thorough inspection, while the latter replaces more items and takes a more detailed look at what’s going on under the skin of your Toyota C-HR.

Your local Toyota dealer can send you annual reminders when your service is due, while the car’s onboard computer can also let you know when the car’s mileage hits the 10,000-mile mark. The system won’t stop you from driving the car, but it’s recommended that you book your car in as soon as possible when a message about servicing appears.

What happens in a Toyota service?

You can book your Toyota C-HR service over the phone or via the Toyota website for a time and date that’s convenient for you. It’s at this time when you should ask about the availability of a courtesy car, should you need it. If you don’t need one, then you can always stay in our waiting area with tea, coffee and free wifi available to while away your time.

Our staff will look after your car and give it the attention it needs, with a full inspection and detailed look at everything on the car. The oil and filter will be changed, all fluids will be checked and the car will be inspected while on a hydraulic lift. Our technicians are trained on all of our cars, so they will know what to look for and will be able to spot issues in terms of damage or wear that might affect the way your car performs. Once finished, your Toyota C-HR will be subject to a complimentary wash and vacuum (where possible) and you will be provided with a visual safety report when you collect your car.

Why choose Toyota servicing?

Toyota service centres are staffed by Toyota Technicians, who are fully qualified to work on and maintain every Toyota in the range, old or new. So while the current Toyota C-HR is now exclusively hybrid-powered, our Technicians can still deliver the best care to older versions using the 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. Constant training means that they will know what to look for when carrying out scheduled maintenance.

Toyota Technicians also offer a 37-point Vehicle Health Check to ensure that everything is in the work order. Early Toyota C-HRs are now more than three years old, so they need an MoT test, but our technicians can cover this, too, whether it’s booked as part of the car’s service, or if it’s arranged separately.

How much does a Toyota C-HR service cost?

You’ll pay the same price for a Toyota C-HR service no matter which UK dealer you take it to. The standard option is to pay for a service once it’s done, but this can be a lot for some people to pay all in one go. However, Toyota does offer service plans that mean you can pay in monthly instalments to help spread the cost. You can arrange for two services to be covered and even add the MoT to this payment, too, simply visit the Toyota Service portal on our website, and fill in your car’s details to get a specific quote for your Toyota C-HR.

Toyota Warranty

Every new Toyota C-HR is eligible to be covered by up to a 10-year/100,000 miles (whichever comes first) Toyota warranty. This is provided through an initial three-year manufacturer warranty, and up to an additional seven-year service-activated Toyota Warranty. Under Toyota Warranty, a 12-month/10,000-mile warranty is included with every Toyota service, giving you a chance to relax in the knowledge that you and your vehicle are in safe hands. Terms and conditions apply.

If you own a Toyota C-HR Hybrid, then you also benefit from Toyota’s Hybrid Electric Vehicle Service. This is a complimentary extra that’s included within the standard service, and our technicians will carry out checks of the car’s hybrid battery and electrical system to ensure everything is in working order. This adds up to 15 years of warranty cover for the car’s hybrid battery.

How to repair a Toyota C-HR

As well as regular maintenance, your local Toyota dealer can help with vehicle repairs. Whether it’s the bodywork, paint or mechanical parts that need fixing, our Technicians know the Toyota C-HR inside out and will be able to look after any work that needs carrying out. They will use official Toyota parts for the repairs, and these are covered by a 12-month warranty once they’re fitted.

  1. Hi Toyota,

I was searching for CH-R used car in your website but i couldn’t find the fileter option for engine size. It’s quite difficult without a filter for engine size to find the right car for me. Can you please suggest on that?

    Regards,
    Aslesh

    1. Hi Aslesh, thanks for your comment.

We appreciate you taking the time to inform us of this.

Engine size is not a filter option we currently offer on our Used Vehicle search. However, we are continually looking to improve our user’s experiences and will pass this on to our website team for future review.

      Thanks.

  2. Hi toyota

I have a corolla 2006 1.6 and it needs a major repair in the engine, can you do it or you are not accepting old models

    Thanks

  3. Hi,
I understand my CHR has a 3yr manufacturer warranty. OK that’s clear enough. Now if I follow a Toyotas Service Plan does this extend the manufacturer’s warranty? I would suggest all it covers is a warranty for the maintenance work?
Therefore as you say previously in this forum, one can use a 3rd party servicing agent to maintain the manufacturer’s warranty. In addition to this, to keep the 10yr Toyota Hybrid battery warranty would a yearly Toyota Health check suffice?
    Thanks
    MJ

    1. Hi MJ,
      Thanks for your question.
Every new Toyota comes with a 3 year manufacturer warranty followed by a 12 months / 10,000 miles additional warranty, with every qualifying service at a Toyota Centre up to 10 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.
In addition to the manufacturer warranty, your C-HR’s battery can benefit from up to 15 years of warranty in total.
With every service at a Toyota dealer, the warranty is extended for a further 12 months, up to the 15th year of registration.

  4. I am looking at a used 2021 C-HR 2.0 GR Sport.
It had its first and only Toyota Service at 19,000 miles (during 2023) Could this still qualify for 10yr warranty if serviced every year/10k milewwith you, or is it void?

    1. Hi Dave, thanks for getting in touch.

The service intervals for a Toyota C-HR are every 12 months or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. The services alternate between intermediate and full.

After the expiry of the manufacturer warranty, owners who choose to have their Toyota serviced at an official Toyota centre will benefit from an additional 12 months (or 10,000 miles) of warranty, until your car is either ten years old or 100,000 miles (whichever comes first).

      Thanks,

      Toyota UK

      1. My 2022 C-HR is due it’s 40,000 mile service, It’s booked in but there’s a 4 week wait and I’m going to go well over the 40,000 miles. I’m concerned this may affect the warranty. is there a limit to the miles that I can “go over”?

      2. Hi Iain,
Please provide your vehicle registration so we can assist you further with this.
        Thank you.

  5. Hi Toyota UK,
Could you confirm if a 2020 C-HR has a ‘service due indicator’ fitted or do you purely refer to the odometer and/or time lapsed from previous service? i.e. 10,000 miles or 12 months.
    Vehicle registration FG70 ***.

    1. Hi Lee, thanks for getting in touch.

There is a service indicator, but we’d recommend keeping an eye on it yourself too.

      Thanks,

      Toyota UK

  6. I am buying a 2023 car excel. It had 10100miles in April (7months old) and now has 10270 miles (12 months old). I know this sounds strange, but it is correct. It was serviced at a Toyota main dealer in April. I was wondering what order the servicing is and when the next one would be due? My wife only covers 5000 miles a year. Therefore, it will have 12500 miles in April (12 months from its 1st service but on 18 months old) and 15000 in September (24 months old).
