Toyota turns blue for charities on Cricket United Day

The Toyota logo is being given a one-off makeover this weekend, in support of Cricket United Day and three UK charities.

As part of Toyota’s partnership with England Cricket, the instantly-recognisable ellipse logo is changing from red to blue on Saturday 22 August to mark Cricket United Day. The annual event sees cricket charities Lord’s Taverners, Chance to Shine and the Professional Cricketers’ Association Benevolent Fund come together for a joint appeal.

Supporters at the 5th Investec England v Australia Test Match are being encouraged to donate to the charities and make a visual statement on the day by wearing blue to help spread the word.

Alongside the other sponsors linked to England Cricket and the Investec Ashes series, Toyota signage at the venue will turn blue for the day. We’re joining in by following suit and showing the revised emblem on our social media channels.

The Lord’s Taverners is the UK’s leading youth cricket and disability sports charity dedicated to giving disadvantaged and disabled young people the chance to regularly play cricket and other sports to benefit their self-esteem, health, wellbeing and education.

Chance to Shine aims to teach young people in schools and in areas affected by youth crime and anti-social behaviour life skills through playing cricket.

The PCA Benevolent Fund helps current and former players and their dependants during times of hardship or upheaval, as well as in readjusting to the world beyond the game.

Although Toyota’s main logo has long used bright red, Cricket United’s shade of blue is not far from the colour used in Toyota badges that highlight our world-leading hybrid technology.
