The new Toyota RAV4 Black Edition stands out from the SUV crowd with a powerful, one-colour treatment. The model’s deep, Galaxy Black paint combines with the RAV4’s sharply designed bodywork to reflect light and create attractive, jewel-like facets.
This visual effect is heightened with matching black styling elements throughout. The front grilles, lower bumper, door mirror casings, skid plates, rear garnish and rear spoiler are presented in Galaxy Black, while the 19-inch alloy wheels also have a glossy black finish. Even the parking sensors are colour-coded, so the only interruptions to the all-black appearance appear to be the chrome badges and Toyota emblem.
In the cabin, the seats are upholstered in high-quality black synthetic leather with (gently) contrasting grey stitching. This combines with black headlining and interior trim to create a strikingly crepuscular cabin ambience.
Standard and optional equipment matches the current RAV4 Dynamic grade except the opening panoramic roof is not available on this special edition. It does, however, include a 360-degree panoramic view monitor, an electrochromic rear-view mirror, and a nine-speaker JBL premium audio system with DAB. Toyota Safety Sense and smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both provided as standard.

Most exterior differences between the Excel RAV4 and Black Edition are to do with colouring.
However, the Excel model also comes with front wiper de-icer, heated steering wheel, memory function on the driver’s seat and a washer fluid level warning.

Please let me know why is the black edition cost more the the rest as it has not got de- icier and the bits you mentioned steering wheel seats etc as it’s a edition I would have thought it would coving all the bits Toyota put in the rest

The RAV4 Black Edition comes with smart entry and a push-button start system but not with remote start.
Unfortunately, the Black Edition does not come with memory function for the driver’s seat or mirrors.
The door mirrors are however automatically retractable.

Hi does the Black Edition come with a digital rear view mirror. I’m doing a R. T in Jan 21 if I fit will order for April delivery, Driving a RAV4 hybrid 2017 excel model AWD , if I buy the Black Edition it will be my 4th Toyota.

This model comes with an electro chromatic rear-view mirror, which reduces the glare when in direct sunlight, or from car headlights, to improve visibility. There is no option for a digital mirror in the UK.

Also, in the UK RAV4 manual there is section how to use it.
Please, could you clarify?
I’m sure lots of UK customers are also disappointed not being able to get wireless phone charger,even as an optional equipment.
Does Toyota consider including it in UK models ?

I notice the RAV Black edition comes with 19 inch wheels and no space saver as does the 2021 excel and dynamic trim levels. As the total size of 19 inch and 18 inch tyres are the same ( smaller profile tyre/larger wheel or Larger profile tyre/smaller wheel ) why is Toyota dropping the space saver?
When the mark 4 RAV was first introduced in came without a space saver and due to consumer demand it was reintroduced. I hope that Toyota UK are not going to make the same mistake as quite a few repeat buyers of the RAV will not buy one with only a can of goo. Me being one of them ( 4 RAVs so far)

RAV4 Black Edition gets equipment that others do not. For example, it gets Intelligent front and rear parking sensors with clearance sonar & automatic braking, panoramic view monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert with Brake Assist and JBL Premium Sound System as standard whereas these are not available, or only available as options on other models.

I have bought my Rav4 Black Edition in December 2020, and I am more than happy with it. But, I must admit, I would have liked to have De-Icer, warm steering wheel, remote start would have been brilliant. Are any of these available for retrofit? Also, I have found this link to brilliant information about prices and lots of accessories on German website, is there something like that available in English on UK website?
