With a recent design refresh (see more details here), the model benefits from improvements to the interior while advanced off-road technologies and entertainment features are added to the standard specification.
The Land Cruiser is available in three model grades – Active, Icon and Invincible – and in five- and seven-seat variants. All models are powered by Toyota’s ultra-tough and reliable 2.8 D-4D diesel engine.

Toyota Touch 2 multimedia
First among the list of changes to the Land Cruiser is the addition of the Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system.
The system’s screen has a resolution four times larger than before for a crystal-clear display, and introduces smartphone style ‘drag and swipe’ gesture technology for improved operation. Traffic information provision and accuracy have been boosted with the adoption of Tom Tom Real Time Traffic alerts.
Destination selection has been improved with the use of Google Street View functionality, allowing users to see a high resolution image of their destination before selection. No other mainstream car manufacturer currently offers this feature in the UK.
Tom Tom Real Time Traffic and Google Street View are pre-installed on Toyota Touch 2 and are available free of charge for one year from purchase of the car.

Safety Pack
In addition to the comprehensive range of safety features available as standard on Land Cruiser, customers can specify an additional safety pack. This includes adaptive cruise control with pre-crash system, designed to minimise the chances of injury in the event of a collision. This pack is priced at £1,360.
Off-road Pack
The Icon grade can be specified with all the off-road driver assistance technology available as standard on Invincible grade. This pack is priced from £1,650.
Two-tone leather
Icon and Invincible grades can be specified with two-tone leather upholstery as a ‘no-cost’ option.

Can you order a manual 5 door active as shown on your web site,also what are the colours available?

Unfortunately only the 3-door variant is available as a manual. The 5-door versions are all automatic. There are a choice of ten colours, two different blacks, two different whites, blue, green, grey, brown, silver and a dark blue. I have passed on your comments about the colour choice on the website and we are looking into rectifying this for the future.

You’ll be pleased to know that the Active grade of the Land Cruiser only has 9 speakers, rather than 14!
All grades of the new Land Cruiser come with Bluetooth, and this is inevitable due to technological advances – most, if not all new cars, now come with Bluetooth connectivity.

Hi, I have been reviewing the website, the pdf brochure and the press releases, I might be reading them wrong, but there are subtle contradictions.
Can you confirm please?
Does the MY2014, 3dr Manual Land Cruiser have the following ,
LED headlights? If yes what type the press release implies different types of LED headlights but the brochure and website does not elaborate.
Hill Start Assist Control (HAC)?
I.e. Even on the manual box, Will the he HAC will catch you from rolling back while changing gear on a hill?
Cruise Control? Is it available on the manual?
Finally
How does the Rear Manual Differential lock work? As opposed the electronic one?
Is it selectable on the rear wheels themselves?

Thanks for your post and we have run these queries past our product team.
The Land Cruiser Active grade does not have LED headlamps and HAC. (HAC will stop you rolling back on a hill when pulling away). Cruise control is available and standard on the 3-door manual model. We will be amending our online brochure to make sure this clearly reflects this and we apologise for any confusion caused. Finally, with regard to the locking rear differential, this is available on the Invincible grade and locks the rear diff by means of a button in the cab. It is using an electric motor to do this rather than manually locking the hubs themselves.

I see no mention of the 3 door spec or price on the UK Toyota Website, is this model still available in the UK in 2014? .

Hi we have bought a new 2014 icon and were a bit disappointed to find it had no voice recognition fitted as standard. Could we have this system fitted and what sort of cost would it be.

Thanks for your post and for your recent purchase of a Toyota Land Cruiser.
We do not provide a voice recognition recognition kit that can be fitted retrospectively unfortunately, however some voice recognition features will work but only if Toyota Touch 2 Plus satnav system is specified in the vehicle. To answer your other point a tracker system would not be fitted as standard in your Land Cruiser, as these have to be fitted directly by Tracker themselves.
