Toyota GB is proud to sponsor Parallel London, the world’s first fully inclusive fun push/run. It will be held on Sunday 4 September at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
We are able to offer a number of exclusive free places for anyone to take part in the Push/Run, and are looking for volunteers to help out at the festival. Leave us a comment below or get in touch on Facebook or Twitter to get your code for free entry.
An event of two halves, Parallel London is the world’s first fully inclusive fun push/run (wheelchair ride/fun run). The family festival – which is free to enter for the thousands of participants and spectators expected on the day – will run alongside the push/run challenges in a national celebration of diversity exactly four years on from the London Paralympics.
Toyota will be lead sponsor for the festival’s active Lifestyle Zone, one of six different zones featuring a multitude of attractions, entertainment and workshops, with a focus on inclusive family fun. In addition to our sponsorship of this zone, we will provide some of our latest models, including Auris Hybrid built by Toyota Manufacturing UK at its Burnaston plant near Derby, for use by Parallel London.
Alan Jennings, Manager of Corporate Planning & CSR at Toyota, said of the sponsorship: “With mobility solutions at the heart of Toyota, Parallel London was a natural event to partner. It challenges physical boundaries and celebrates both individual achievement and the community spirit that it inspires.”
Parallel London’s push/run challenges encourage all ages and abilities to unite to run, walk, wheel, push or be pushed at the iconic Olympic Park. Anything goes. There are no cut-off times or equipment restrictions and anyone who needs a helping hand can bring a buddy free of charge. There is a distance for everyone: 100m, 1km, 5km and 10km, plus a new landmark Super Sensory 1k offering participants multi-sensory experiences along the course, from sounds and smells, to textures and colours.
