If you want to make the most of your Toyota C-HR, then book a service at an official Toyota service centre. Keeping on top of maintenance means that your Toyota C-HR will be in the best of health, keeping you on the road for longer. And with years of experience in fixing and maintaining all Toyotas, your local service centre and its Toyota Technicians will be able to give your Toyota C-HR the attention it deserves.
The Toyota C-HR is a futuristic-looking compact SUV, and our Toyota centres have plenty of technology in their workshops to help keep it all working smoothly. Here we guide you through what you need to know about a Toyota C-HR service.
When is my Toyota C-HR service due?
Whether you own a Toyota C-HR powered by a 1.2-litre engine or either of the 1.8 or 2.0-litre hybrid models, service intervals are every 12 months or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. The services alternate between minor and major, with the former involving an oil and filter change and a thorough inspection, while the latter replaces more items and takes a more detailed look at what’s going on under the skin of your Toyota C-HR.
Your local Toyota dealer can send you annual reminders when your service is due, while the car’s onboard computer can also let you know when the car’s mileage hits the 10,000-mile mark. The system won’t stop you from driving the car, but it’s recommended that you book your car in as soon as possible when a message about servicing appears.
What happens in a Toyota service?
You can book your Toyota C-HR service over the phone or via the Toyota website for a time and date that’s convenient for you. It’s at this time when you should ask about the availability of a courtesy car, should you need it. If you don’t need one, then you can always stay in our waiting area with tea, coffee and free wifi available to while away your time.
Our staff will look after your car and give it the attention it needs, with a full inspection and detailed look at everything on the car. The oil and filter will be changed, all fluids will be checked and the car will be inspected while on a hydraulic lift. Our technicians are trained on all of our cars, so they will know what to look for and will be able to spot issues in terms of damage or wear that might affect the way your car performs. Once finished, your Toyota C-HR will be subject to a complimentary wash and vacuum (where possible) and you will be provided with a visual safety report when you collect your car.
Why choose Toyota servicing?
Toyota service centres are staffed by Toyota Technicians, who are fully qualified to work on and maintain every Toyota in the range, old or new. So while the current Toyota C-HR is now exclusively hybrid-powered, our Technicians can still deliver the best care to older versions using the 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. Constant training means that they will know what to look for when carrying out scheduled maintenance.
Toyota Technicians also offer a 37-point Vehicle Health Check to ensure that everything is in the work order. Early Toyota C-HRs are now more than three years old, so they need an MoT test, but our technicians can cover this, too, whether it’s booked as part of the car’s service, or if it’s arranged separately.
How much does a Toyota C-HR service cost?
You’ll pay the same price for a Toyota C-HR service no matter which UK dealer you take it to. The standard option is to pay for a service once it’s done, but this can be a lot for some people to pay all in one go. However, Toyota does offer service plans that mean you can pay in monthly instalments to help spread the cost. You can arrange for two services to be covered and even add the MoT to this payment, too, simply visit the Toyota Service portal on our website, and fill in your car’s details to get a specific quote for your Toyota C-HR.
Toyota Warranty
Every new Toyota C-HR is eligible to be covered by up to a 10-year/100,000 miles (whichever comes first) Toyota warranty. This is provided through an initial three-year manufacturer warranty, and up to an additional seven-year service-activated Toyota Warranty. Under Toyota Warranty, a 12-month/10,000-mile warranty is included with every Toyota service, giving you a chance to relax in the knowledge that you and your vehicle are in safe hands. Terms and conditions apply.
If you own a Toyota C-HR Hybrid, then you also benefit from Toyota’s Hybrid Electric Vehicle Service. This is a complimentary extra that’s included within the standard service, and our technicians will carry out checks of the car’s hybrid battery and electrical system to ensure everything is in working order. This adds up to 15 years of warranty cover for the car’s hybrid battery.
How to repair a Toyota C-HR
As well as regular maintenance, your local Toyota dealer can help with vehicle repairs. Whether it’s the bodywork, paint or mechanical parts that need fixing, our Technicians know the Toyota C-HR inside out and will be able to look after any work that needs carrying out. They will use official Toyota parts for the repairs, and these are covered by a 12-month warranty once they’re fitted.

Hello,
Can you please confirm the service intervals for the C-HR 2ltr hybrid? As is written in the article above (“Toyota C-HR service: all you need to know”) I believed from information given when I purchased the car new in September 2021 that the intervals were 12-months/12,000 miles. However, I have receivied numerous communications from my dealer telling me the vehicle is due a service, despite it only being 6 months since purchase and having done less than 2000 miles. This is immensely frustrating and if the dealership are promoting unnecessary servicing I’m very disappointed with both the dealership and Toyota.
Thank you,
Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your comment.
Service intervals are every 12 months or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Furthermore, we are sorry to hear about the service you have received from your Toyota Centre.

Hi purchased chr in October last year but service is due in May now one would thought at the prices of the car that this would be done on purchase.however obviously not and with the price of a full service which is pretty basic to be honest doesn’t give the customer much scope to bring to a dealership such as toyota seeing as there not giving anything for the customer. Just another’ false dealership promotion

Hi Heather,

Thanks.
Hi. I have a three year service plan with my C HR. This covers 2 minor services, 1 major service, MOTs and l believe battery checks on each service and 1 air con service. Could you please tell me everything that is changed in each of these services and what checks are done. Thanks.
Hi Mark,

• Check all fluid levels & top up as required.
• Inspect battery for leaks, security of clamps & terminals.
• Inspect cooling system, hoses & connections.
• Inspect radiator & condenser for debris & signs of damage.
• Inspect air filter element.
• Inspect brake pads & discs.
• Inspect steering wheel, gear & linkages.
• Inspect for under vehicle and under hood fluid leaks.

• Check operation of lights, horns, wipers & washers.
• Check function of all warning lights.

There will be core components that are carried out at every centre, however there may be variance across different centres.
Thanks.
What is included in Major Service ?
Could you please list this?
I was recommended a air filter change, £45-55.
Hi Klyn,
Thanks for your question.
Please provide your Vehicle Registration and mileage on your vehicle so that we can look into this for you.
Thanks.
My CHR 2.0 litre, 14,000 miles is booked in for a second annual service.
The dealer has recommended an engine and injector flush. If the necessary or recommended by Toyota?
Hi Nigel.
The Toyota centre is best placed to advise you on the service schedule for your vehicle.
Thanks.
Stoneacre recommend this every service and I think Toyota UK should clarify if these fuel treatments and engine oil flush are necessary or just income generation for Stoneacre etc. I never had these treatments recommended by my dealer before Stoneacre took over so please Toyota tell your customers if they are necessary!!
Hi John,
Thanks for your comment.
If you want to discuss this further please contact our customer relations team here – https://www.toyota.co.uk/help-centre#/iframe/https%3A%2F%2Fforms.toyota.co.uk%2Fcontact-us.
Thanks.
Thanks for your reply but could you not contact Toyota Customer Services and post the official Toyota position on the suitability or necessity of these treatment on this forum?
I am sure I am not the only Toyota driver who like to know the answer to this question as I have this conversation with Stoneacre every year when my srvice is due!!
Hi John,
Please could you clarify which treatments you are referring to.
Thanks.
I have listed below the treatments offered by Stoneacre (Toyota main dealer) as part of my CHR 1.8 Hybrid service.
As you can see from the video in the link below these are treatments that are added to the fuel and oil system and my question is “do Toyota recommend such products and would the use of these treatments invalidate the Toyota warranty should an issue arise as a result of their use”?
Engine Flush & Fuel Treatments
https://www.stoneacre.co.uk/car-service/service-treatments/engine-flush
Hi John,
Thanks for your patience.
These treatments would be recommended if they are carried out using Toyota products.
This should not impact your Manufacturer’s Warranty.
Thanks.
hi there I am very interested a 2019 Toyota Chr, but have heard that the are issues with a certain batch, that has transmission failures, leading to hefty cost that most customers cannot afford. could you please advise me if there has been many issues in regards to Transmission failures by owners of chr models
Hi Chris,
Thanks for your comment.
This is not something that we are aware of.
Please be assured that all of our vehicles are built to the highest quality.
Thanks.
Thanks for getting back to me in regards, to my Transmission query, As when you search online there are numerous Chr owners stating that the transmission has failed them. Although most are in the usa. could you please tell me if the Toyota warranty would be void if i used my chr for part time private hire work in the uk.
Hi Chris, thanks for your comment.
The Warranty Terms and Conditions state that damage or defects as a result of defects that result from using the Vehicle outside the recommendations of the manufacturer (e.g. misuse, races, extreme off-road, tuning, excessive charge
(overloading)) will void the warranty. Please see the full T&Cs here – https://fal.cn/3tsEK.
Thanks.
