We might have a few more months to wait until the Toyota GT86 is available in the UK, but that doesn’t mean our new sports car isn’t already being lined up for serious track time.
In fact, we can confirm that Gazoo Racing is entering two GT86 in the famous Nürburgring 24 hour race!
The launch of GT86 and the partnership between Toyota and Gazoo Racing is part of a plan to broaden the appeal of motor sport and encourage a new generation of Toyota sports car fans.
A unique element about the Gazoo Racing team is the fact it uses the company’s in-house personnel as drivers and mechanics as a way of helping to develop better cars and encouraging employee involvement.
UK fans will get a chance to see Gazoo Racing’s GT86 at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, from 29 June to 1 July. Motor sport fans will also be treated to a range of Toyota stars at the event, including the Dynojet Racing BTCC Avensis piloted by Frank Wrathall, the TS030 Hybrid Le Mans challenger and historic rally cars such as the Celica GT4 and Corolla WRC.
