The new Toyota C-HR GR Sport is the latest model to receive stylistic and dynamic inspiration from Toyota Gazoo Racing’s world championship-winning motorsport activities. Introduced in 2021, the new grade blends the established appeal of our crossover with extra sports styling, as well as revisions to the suspension and steering for sharper performance.
Toyota C-HR GR Sport: exterior
GR Sport grade presents a powerful presence with a black finish around the headlight and fog light housings, the central bumper section, and oval Toyota emblems. The grille has a contrasting dark chrome finish and there is a more prominently styled front spoiler.
The assertive look continues with black trim on the lower door mouldings and new turbine-style 19-inch alloy wheels which have a black and machined-face finish. At the rear, black trim surrounds the combination lights and reflector surrounds, and there is a new arrow-shaped under-bumper trim. Subtle GR Sport badging completes the look.
Bi-tone paintwork is included as standard and there are eight body colours to choose from, including a new Ash Grey and black roof combination that is exclusive to the GR Sport.
Toyota C-HR GR Sport: interior
GR Sport models are equipped with a silver decoration line running across the dashboard and a choice of fabric or Alcantara-trimmed leather upholstery, both of which feature red and grey stitching.
The three-spoke steering wheel has a perforated leather finish with red stitching, a combination that is also applied to the shift lever gaitor. The evocative GR logo is presented on the scuff plates, stop-start button, and the start-up animation in the driver’s multi-information display.
The equipment specification provides rear privacy glass, smart entry, LED headlights, heated front seats and auto-retracting door mirrors. Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system with navigation and smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is also provided as standard. A nine-speaker JBL Premium Sound audio system is available as an option.
Sharper driving dynamics
The Toyota C-HR GR Sport is available with both 1.8- and 2.0-litre hybrid powertrains, both of which deliver sharper driving dynamics to match their sporty looks, while preserving ride comfort.
The front and rear springs have been stiffened by 10 and 15% respectively and the shock absorbers have been tuned for increased damping force, particularly on the rebound. The larger diameter anti-roll bar that’s used in the 2.0-litre model has been applied to the 1.8-litre model to reduce body roll and improve pitch control. The steering system has also been tuned for better response and the GR Sport rides on model-specific tyres.

I ordered my CHR GR SPORT 2 litre back in April and i am being quoted mid November for delivery, i was originally quoted September then October what is the issue with this model.
Hi Stuart,
We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.
Currently the industry is facing several problems. The continued increase in demand of semi-conductors in the world and the growing concern of the Covid-19 situation in south-east Asia has had a direct impact on staff levels at suppliers.
These problems are affecting several industrial sectors but more so in the automobile sector.
Due to this, Toyota had to review its production plans for the months of September and October 2021 in several of its plants within Japan and Europe.
As a consequence, some vehicles are facing delivery delays.
Once again, we are really sorry about this and we hope you are behind the wheel of your C-HR GR Sport very soon.
Thanks.
Nobody tells you about delays when you order your CHR I am awaiting delivery of my new motor
Hi there,
Currently the automotive industry is experiencing a shortage of certain parts due to worker shortages caused by the spread of COVID-19 in Southeast Asia, and the growing increase in demand for semi-conductors around the world.
If you have already placed an order, depending on the vehicle, this may mean the estimated delivery time is pushed back.
We apologise about this inconvenience, please let us know if there is any way we can assist you further.
Thanks.
How long does it take to ship a CHR from Turkey to myToyota dealer in Worksop Nottingham England ? I was told delivery in December ?
Hi David,
Thanks for your comment.
Your Toyota Centre would be best placed to advise on delivery times.
However, as mentioned in our previous reply, due to part shortages, delivery times of certain vehicles may be pushed back.
Thanks.
Hi Team,
Can I know if C-HR GR sport comes with a sunroof or moonroof. Thanks
Hi Sari,
Thanks for your comment.
The C-HR GR Sport comes with a Black Bi-tone roof.
Thanks.
Hi Toyota,
I have ordered a GR Sport and wanted side steps (shown as options on the Toyota website and price list and brochure) but although my original order was accepted by my dealer (Motorline Cardiff) I was subsequently advised 6 weeks later that it was not possible to fit side steps to this model (although I have seen plenty of this 2021 model with side steps fitted). Any ideas as to why I have been refused the fitting of side steps?
Thanks,
Steve
Hi Steve,
Thanks for your comment.
The reason for this is because side steps are not available as on option on the GR Sport grade.
If you could show us where on the website / which price list or brochure you saw this, we can look into this for you.
Thanks.
Hi,
Thanks for the prompt reply. I see it now on the price list (not shown as an option) – my dealer missed it as well. The C-HR brochure shows the side steps in a generic picture (show for illustration purposes only).
Interestingly, I see that quite a few 2021 GR Sport models are being sold secondhand at main dealers with side steps fitted – I guess someone must be fitting them after delivery?
Thanks again.
Steve
Hi Steve,
We can only assume that the picture on the brochure must not have been a GR Sport model.
However, if you can provide the registration of one of these vehicles, we can have a look into this for you.
Thanks.
Try PF21 UMX, currently for sale through Vantage Toyota Blackburn.
Hi Steve,
We cannot see that this C-HR has been modified with any side steps on our system.
Thanks.
Does the Corolla GR sport estate come with a black roof ? – in some pics it does but some doesn’t ?
Hi Trevor,
Thanks for your comment.
Bi-tone paint is not available on the Corolla Touring Sports.
This means that if you would like a black roof, you would need to purchase the vehicle in a black colour.
We hope this helps.
Thanks.
