New Toyota Yaris Trend

We are kicking 2013 off in style, launching a brand new version of the popular Toyota Yaris Trend.

The new Yaris Trend will build on the successful launch of the 2012 Trend, which proved a hit with younger, design-conscious drivers.

Priced at £14,570, the Trend retains a blacked-out C-pillar to create a ‘floating roof’ effect, and adds detailing to the front fog light surrounds and headlamps, door mirror covers and door sills.

The 16-inch alloy wheels have machine-finished surfaces, and a unique two-tone design. At the rear there is a roof spoiler and LED lamp clusters.

There are plenty of updates to the interior, too. The Yaris Trend gets a black and white treatment, with a contrasting touch of ochre to create a clean style with plenty of visual impact.

The layout of the centre console has been changed, with the soft-touch dashboard and upper door panels finished in white. Details such as the shorter shift lever and larger gear knob add to the quality feel.

The black and white design theme continues on the seats. The upper seatback bolsters and headrests are finished in a new, pearl white leather-look material with ochre stitching. The seats’ central fabric inserts have been made softer and there is new grey piping to reflect the change from black to grey seatbelts.

The instrument dials follow the same colour theme, in black and white with ochre accents.

The 2013 Yaris Trend will be available in five-door form only, in Pure White, Tyrol Silver, Burning Red and Decuma Grey. It is powered by the best-selling 1.33-litre petrol engine matched to either a 6-speed manual or Multidrive S automatic transmission.

  1. I ordered my Trend, in Pure White on the 26/05. The dealership says it has to be shipped from the factory. I cant wait any longer lol! any idea how long it should actually take to arrive?

    1. Hi Jamie,
Great to hear you’ve a Yaris Trend on the way, you’re going to love it! We can’t say how long it’ll take and suggest you keep in touch with your Dealer who’ll be kept up to date.
Do let us know if you need anything, enjoy the rest of your week.

  2. I ordered My Yaris Trend on the 31/05, like Jamie says below having to come from the factory. I have been given a date of the 1st July to collect. Been away from Japanese cars for a couple of years, cant wait to get back.

  3. Hey.. I am wondering..
Does the Trend come with a flip-key, or is it a standard blade key?
If it is just a blade key.. is it possible change it to a flip key?

    1. Hi Jamie,
The Yaris Trend comes with a blade key. We’re unaware that you’re able to change this to a flip-key, however it may be worth asking your Toyota Dealer.
      Hope this helps.

  4. Message for Jackie, The bleeping noise is telling you that there are speed cameras and the AP&H cameras. It took us a while to realise what it was and it only bleeps when the camera is active with a beep beep. Our garage didn’t know this either. Interestingly I was driving along the motorway and the underneath cover of the engine fell off and the front bumper split. I’ve had to pay for this to be repaired even though I hadn’t hit anything or gone over any rubbish in the road at a cost of £900. I’d get them to check the plastic cover, RAC said that the clips had snapped.

  5. Toyota sales why have I been charged 17,000 for a 63 plate Trend when the price should have been £15,500 ? Look forward to your reply

    1. Hi Alec
      Thanks for post.
We recommend contacting your supplying Dealer regarding the invoice amount. They will be able to discuss and break down the invoice cost for you. If you have any problems or would like any further assistance please let us know.

  6. Hi,
I just bought a yaris trend in burning red and so far very impressed with it. The look and drive of this car is fantastic. Reasonably roomy as well (I am 6’2″). I wanted a city car which is economical to run and hoping that Yaris would live it to its specs.

My question is whether the trend has daytime running lights or not as I am unable to find its switch. I thought drl is a requirement for all vehicles after 2012 but the trend dont seem to have them.

  7. Hi Wasif
Thanks for your post and great to hear about your recent purchase of a Yaris Trend.
The Yaris certainly proves to be a popular car among owners for the reasons you have outlined. With regard to daytime running lights, not all versions of the Yaris Trend had these fitted. There is no interior switch for turning these on and off as if the car has them fitted they will come on automatically when you start the car. Based on your comment we would assume that these are not present on your car. Let us know if you have any other questions. You can also double check the specification with your supplying dealer if this helps.

  8. In my yaris trend, to find out the touch and go version, there’s no option for system information in the setup > general > general settings screen. Any ideas???

    1. Hello Shahid,
Thank you for your post. Yaris Trend was a special edition for 2012 and 2013. 2016 Yaris offers the new Yaris Design with a sportier feel. Many thanks.

  9. Hi, just wondering why the BED banding is D for the trend (2013) when compared to other Yaris’ which have C. Thanks Aaron
