Toyota i-Road: new video and images

The Toyota i-Road could be the answer to the question of how to get around modern, sprawling cities – and it’s set to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show next week.

We showed the first teaser image of the micro car earlier this month, but this video gives the best idea yet of how it might look.

Have a watch and tell us what you think – and get a closer look by checking out the screengrabs below.

  1. Neat idea putting the power in the front wheels and the steering in the back… should avoid the mechanical complexity of piagio three wheel scooter, but with a tighter turning circle. The tight turning circle should compensate for the initially odd feeling from rear-wheel steering.

When’s it going to be available in the UK, and will it be for sale or hire (the video shows street charging points)..

    1. Hi Stephen
      Thanks for your post.
Market trials start next year on i-Road in France and Japan to help gain feedback from real world usage. This will be used to help with the final specification and set up. We are therefore a while away and production has not yet been confirmed for the UK. We have had a lot of interest in i-Road and will look to publish news and further stories regarding how the trials progress on our blog.
      Hope this helps.
