The Toyota Extended Warranty: long-term peace of mind

Your Toyota’s mechanical warranty comes to an end after five years or 100,000 miles, but it doesn’t have to. A Toyota Extended Warranty means you can sleep easy for years to come.

It doesn’t matter whether you have owned your Toyota from new or bought it as a used car, the Toyota Extended Warranty gives you the same benefits as the warranty package on a brand new Toyota. The list of covered components goes on and on:

  • engine components
  • clutch kit (except for wear & tear)
  • gearbox manual transmission
  • front wheel drive unit
  • rear axle
  • prop shaft
  • suspension
  • fuel system
  • diesel injection systems
  • electronic ignition
  • electrics
  • oil leaks
  • cooling system
  • steering
  • braking system
  • turbo charger
  • air conditioning
  • casings

The Toyota Extended Warranty also covers the replacement of covered parts which result in the failure of an MOT test.

Cover isn’t just comprehensive. If you want it to, it lasts a very long time. The Extended Warranty can continue until the car is 10 years old.

If a covered part fails during that time, Toyota is committed to fixing it. No if or buts, no sucking of teeth, no shirking of responsibility. You won’t pay for parts or labour, and we’ll have your Toyota back in perfect working order as quickly as we can.

For high-mileage drivers, a big plus with our Extended Warranty is that there’s no mileage limit unless you choose a restricted mileage policy. Drive as far and as often as you like and the cover remains the same.

You don’t have to opt for an unlimited mileage scheme if you don’t want to. Restricting the cover to 10,000 miles per year reduces the cost of the warranty, but still includes the same benefits. Whether you choose the unlimited or 10,000 miles per annum option, the Toyota Extended Warranty can be purchased in 12- or 24-month blocks (subject to vehicle eligibility).

To preserve your car’s Toyota Extended Warranty, it will need to be serviced at an Authorised Toyota Service Centre at least once a year or more frequently if the mileage is high. That means the car will only ever be worked on by Toyota technicians using genuine Toyota parts. We’ll know it’s been cared for to the highest possible standard, giving us the confidence to keep extending the warranty right up until the car’s 10th birthday.

Stick to the service schedule and we doubt you’ll need to make use of the warranty often. If you do, though, its good to know that if your car cannot be driven or cannot be driven without causing damage to it because a covered part has failed, you can claim up to five days’ car hire to a maximum of £45 a day (including VAT) after the first 24 hours (excluding the cost of consumables).

If the car fails an MOT, a Toyota Extended Warranty will protect you against the cost of repairing or replacing the protected part which led to the failure. As long as the car is repaired within 30 days of the failed MOT and then passes its re-test, your Toyota Extended Warranty will pay for the repair or replacement of covered parts, up to the car’s purchase price. You will have to pay the first £10 of any repair plus all MOT test fees.

As part of your Toyota Extended Warranty you will receive automatic membership of Toyota Roadside Assistance provided by the AA.

With comprehensive cover and a long list of additional benefits, we think you’d be hard-pressed to find better mechanical breakdown cover than a Toyota Extended Warranty.

  1. Hi Paul,
Thanks for your post. We’ve checked with our technical department and unfortunately your Corolla is out of warranty. If you want to speak to someone about an extended warranty, we recommend a visit to your local dealer. You can find your nearest here: Many thanks!

    1. Hi Kenneth,
Thank you for your comment. For our passenger vehicles the CVT transmission is covered for up to 5 yrs / 100,000 miles (whichever the soonest) for manufacturing defect. We can’t comment on a used car’s extended warranty, as it will depend on the the level of cover purchased. We’d then advise going to your local dealer. You can find your closest dealer here: Hope this helps.

  2. Good morning,
after the Initial Assessment reported by a Roadside Recovery, my engine has siezed although oil was noted from the sip stick. Does my extended warrenty cover labour such as stripping the engine to discover the cause of the fault as well as the cost of repair?

      1. Hi Eddy,
Thanks for getting back to us.
Used car extended warranty is not administered by TGB, it’s through TWG (The Warranty Group). You should refer this query to your local Toyota Centre as the level of cover is dependent on the type of policy taken out.

Sorry we could not help further.

  3. Hi, I am considering fitting a permanent roof rack on my Hilux. This will require drilling fixing holes in the roof. Will this affect my extended warranty.

  4. Hi Stan,
    Thanks for getting in touch.
The warranty will only be affected by any defect arising as a direct result of fitting the roof rack (i.e. corrosion, excessive load, etc.).
    We hope this helps.
