Update on Toyota extended delivery times

Updated Toyota brand logo

Like many other businesses, Toyota is currently experiencing delays in the global supply chain for some of our components and this has unfortunately led to longer delivery times on some of our more popular new vehicles. In addition we are seeing unprecedented demand for our Hybrid Electric products.

Please be assured that our focus remains on doing everything we can to deliver our cars as quickly as possible and making sure that you have the most up to date information. Toyota’s global strength in production planning means that we have so far managed to minimise the impact of the shortages, but the global issues will result in delivery times longer than we would like.

Our Dealer network partners will have the very latest information and will be able to advise the best options for you, including the earliest available vehicles or sourcing our Approved Used cars.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

  1. I ordered my RAV4 dynamic in October 2021. As the delivery of it is likely to be even more delayed, would it be the 2022 model that I receive?

    1. Hi Tom,
Thanks for your comment and thank you for your order.
We would recommend confirming this with your Toyota Centre as they will have information on your specific order.
      Thanks.

      1. Hi, I have ordered a Rav 4 PHEV Dynamic in May 2022. Have not yet got any update on the delivery date. Just wondering what sort of a time should I be looking forward to considering the situation now.

      2. Morning Joe.

Congratulations on your new RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid.

If one was ordered today, delivery should be approximately March 2023 but we’d recommend getting in touch with your local Toyota Centre for an update on your order.

        Thank you.

  2. Hi,
Has the Hilux factory in South Africa reopened after the floods in April.
I ordered a Hilux Invincible X in Dec21 and was told about a year wait, but surely this will be longer if the factory is still closed.

    Thank you.

    1. Hi Paul,

Thanks for your order. After extensive damage caused by flooding, production is expected to re-start in early July. Inevitably, this will cause further delays. We are really sorry about this and are doing all we can to get things back up and running as quickly as possible.

      Thanks

  3. Hi, I ordered my Rav 4 on 1st December 2021 in the UK so it has been 6 months and I still have not received a vin or delivery date 6 months on. Do you know what the delivery expectations are?

    1. Hi Max,

Thanks for your order. Just looking at our supply information from back then, and our expected delivery month (when your car was ordered) was September 2022. This means we would have expected the vehicle to be built in July 2022. Of course, this information was estimated, and is subject to change, due to the semi-conductor situation. We recommend contacting your Toyota centre for further information on your order. Apologies for the long wait. We realise it is frustrating. We’d like to be able to deliver cars much quicker than this, but external factors are proving a real challenge.

      Thanks

  4. Hi, I ordered a Hilux Invincible X on 1st September 2021 with an estimated delivery of April/May 2022 but alas still no vehicle and its June. Any ideas when it may materialise?

    1. Hi Edward,

Thanks for your order, and sorry for the wait. A number of external factors are having an impact on Hilux production, like the global semi-conductor shortage and the natural disaster that flooded the Hilux production facility in Durban, South Africa. We are doing all we can to build and deliver vehicles as quickly as we can. Please contact your Toyota centre for updates on your order.

      Thanks

      1. Hi

Could anybody explain why you cannot buy a new hilux but the main dealers seem to have unit 14 speedgate farm mussenden lane fawkham kent DA3 8NJ abundance of “used vehicles” with 100 miles or so on the clock. These “used vehicles” are considerably more expensive than a new vehicle, maybe I’ve answered my own question, and do not allow businesses to benefit from the tax incentives of a new vehicle.

      2. Hi Keith,

It sounds like these are ex-demonstrators or used cars. Used car prices are driven by supply and demand, and are particularly high at the moment, due to the long wait for new cars.

        Thanks

      3. Toyota Romford have 5 Hilux with 100 miles on the clock, all demonstrators? or used? All above list price of a new vehicle, plus many other models with similar mileage, what do other customers think.

      4. Hi Keith,

As we said in our previous comment, used car values are subject to market trends, based on demand.

Centres cannot sell unregistered cars above retail price.

        Thanks

  5. Hi, I ordered a new Toyota Corolla on the 26th of January 2022. The expected delivery date initially was 18th of June. However I called today to the dealership and was informed that it has been pushed back to the 6th of July.

The dealership hasn’t been clear about status updates nor has the MyT app. I have not received and updates other than when I call. And even then they are not clear of the status.

Could I please get an update on delivery times for Corolla 2.0 Excel for order in January please ?

    Thanks

  6. I ordered my RAV4 in October 2021 with a July delivery date from the dealership (was originally March). So far, the car has not been built and logically this would mean a later delivery date. Would you please let me know the expected delivery date of my car if it has not yet been built?

    1. Hi Tom

Thanks for your order. Please contact your Toyota centre for more information about your vehicle’s delivery time.

      Thanks

  7. I have been given an ETA by my dealer of 17 Aug 22 for my Yaris Cross. My T does not yet show the car in build?

When will the My T be updated and can I trust this eta?

    1. Morning Lita.

We’re sorry to hear the info you’ve been provided is not aligned with the info on MyT.

Your local Toyota Centre should continue to keep you updated with all the latest info and MyT should be updated soon.

Thank you for your on-going patience, we can’t wait to see you behind the wheel.

    1. Congratulations Joe!

  9. Hi, I wanted to order a RAV 4 PHEV dynamic premium. I am being told that no orders are currently being taken due to unprecedented popularity. Is this correct. Are no Uk orders being taken on this vehicle? Thanks

    1. Hi Mike, thanks for your comment.

That is correct. The Dynamic Premium grade of the RAV4 PHEV is no longer available.

      Thanks,

      Toyota UK

  10. Hi,

I ordered my Yaris Design on 19th March and was told a delivery date of sometime in July. Nothing is showing on the MyT app and was wondering how long it takes to build the car. I am likely to get my car in July

    1. Hi Paul, thanks for your comment.

It’s great to hear that you have a new Yaris on order. Your local Toyota Centre is best placed to provide updates on your purchase as and when they become available.

    2. I ordered my Yaris on February 16th and was originally told June. Still no information on build date or confirmed delivery. Dealer has now estimated October and even though I stated I was happy to take a cancellation on a different specification (colour/trim) to improve delivery I was told this was not possible.
