Switch on to DAB Digital Radio

Once you’ve experienced the clarity of DAB digital radio, you won’t want to go back to an analogue signal. There’s also a wide choice of digital-only radio stations you just can’t get on a conventional car radio.

Toyota owners can upgrade to a DAB digital radio for as little as £229 on most models. Adding this simple plug-in module to your car means you’ll enjoy crystal-clear reception. When listening to football or cricket coverage it sounds like the commentator is in the car with you. Voices are distinct and easy on the ear, and there’s none of the crackle or hiss you sometimes get when listening to analogue radio.

Music also sounds better through DAB, with precise, clearly defined and beautifully balanced sound.

By upgrading your Toyota’s car radio to digital, you’re also future-proofing your in-car entertainment against the day when conventional analogue radio will be switched off.

  1. Hi there I have a 2010 T spirit Prius. It has the nav built in and one button says am/dab. Does this mean dab is built in? If so how do I turn it on?

  2. Hi. Would this be the module to intergrate with the touch n go systen for my 2015 plug in prius. I have been quoted in excess of £400 for the dab upgrade.
    TIA

  3. Hi Mike,
Thanks for getting back to us. We would have to advise that this will be the price for the unit, if your Toyota dealer has advised this to be true.

    1. Hi Stuart,
Thanks for getting in touch. Our technical department have advised that DAB is available on all Prius models!

  4. I have just bought a 2010 model Toyota Camry Hybrid. I need to find a DAB+ converter to my radio because in Norway they switch off the FM band this year. I some one out there could help me finding a such converter – which need to be for a hidden solution – I would appreciate this very much. Thanks in advance.

    1. Hi Olav,
Thanks for getting in touch. Unfortunately, we do not sell a Camry in the UK and therefore do not stock DAB parts. We would advise getting in touch with Toyota Norway and they should be able to help you. Alternatively, there may be a third party device available. However, we do not advise fitting these as it could void your Toyota Warranty. Many thanks.

    1. Hi Jan,
Thanks for getting in touch. We would have to suggest contacting your local Toyota Centre as they will be able to best advise in this situation. Do you need any help finding your nearest dealer?

  6. Hi, I have a 2009 Gen 3 Prius T-Spirit. Requested DAB module to be fitted by local Toyota dealer and they advise it is not available for the T-Spirit, only the T3. Since I have the AM/DAB option on the head unit I’m very surprised at this. Can you confirm it is correct that there is no Toyota DAB upgrade for the T-Spirit?

    1. Hi Dave,
We’re in talks with our accessories team and we’ll get back to you when they’ve advised us further. Many thanks for your patience! 🙂

    2. Hi Dave,
Part: PZ473-T0210-A0 should fit to your vehicle.
This is a DAB “extension box” that connects to the OE head unit so it needs to have Toyota Touch in order for it to work, but we assume it must do if there is a DAB button.
Please note that only DAB broadcasts are supported; tuner is NOT able to receive DAB+ or DMB broadcasts.
We would suggest taking this information to your local dealer for some more advice.

    3. There is a plug in DAB unit for the Prius TSpirit it fits behind the stereo PZ473-T0210-AO the screen dad aerial isnt the best. Once plumbed in the dab button on the head unit gives dab

  7. Hi Ella thanks for the info. Not sure if mine is Toyota Touch or not, it has a built-in touchscreen for satnav. Anyway due to lack of dab+ support I’ve decided to go with an external Pure Highway kit instead.
