The launch of the GR Supra GT Cup last year signalled Toyota’s move to elevate the status of e-motorsports into one of the pillars of Toyota Gazoo Racing’s global motorsport activities. This is because e-motorsport has the unique ability to make racing and sports cars accessible and enjoyable to everybody, irrespective of age or location.
Since 2019, more than 800,000 people have become in-game owners of a GR Supra within the Gran Turismo Sport platform on the PlayStation 4. Of these, 30,000 drivers participated in the inaugural GR Supra GT Cup season, while more than 120,000 gamers were able to offer valuable feedback of their experience through questionnaires. All of which should make the 2020 championship better than ever.
The video below offers an insight into the drama and excitement of last year’s final. Further details of the 2020 championship are listed below, and additional information regarding each specific round will be published in due course on the GR Supra GT Cup chapter of the official Toyota Gazoo Racing website.
