Get your pencils, pens and crayons ready – it’s time to put your artistic skills to the test.
We’ve has teamed up with Tom Campbell, founder of the Racing Colour website, for a colouring competition – perfect for entertaining children (or adults!) over the summer holidays.
You can download our specially commissioned drawing of the Toyota TS030 Hybrid Le Mans racer at the bottom of this page. We’d love to see your efforts, and there are three ways to send them to us.
1. Facebook: To enter via Facebook simply scan or photograph your completed entry, and post it onto the Toyota UK Facebook wall (remember: please do not include sensitive information with your entry if you submit it by Facebook. We will contact you privately if necessary).
2. Email: Email a scan or photograph of your completed entry to firstname.lastname@example.org.
3. Post: Send us a copy of your entry to: Colouring Competition, Social Media team, Toyota GB, Great Burgh, Burgh Heath, Epsom, Surrey, KT18 5UZ. Please bear in mind we may not be able to return your entries.
Remember, there are no strict rules for this contest – you can shade the car in its real-life colour scheme, or come up with your own. It’s just for fun, so why not be creative?
All entries received will go on display at Toyota GB HQ and there will be small prizes for our favourites, which we will pick on 1st September. There is no age limit and you can enter as many times as you like.
Racing Colour is a website that allows users to download line drawings of cars to colour in. Tom Campbell started the site in December 2012, following a life-long passion for motor sport and cars.
Speaking of the complex process that is necessary to produce such intricate drawings, he explained: “The hardest part is trying to picture the car in 3D. I start with a rough sketch to get the size of each part right, then scan it in to the computer and draw clean versions of all the lines in an illustrator program.”
In the meantime, what Toyota models are next on Tom’s agenda? “The GT-One Le Mans car, the Eagle MKIII, TOM’s Supra GTIII and the crazy Toyota Tacoma Pikes Peak car,” he says.
Is there a Toyota model that you would like Tom to draw? Make your suggestion in the comments below and they may just be added to the competition.
