2018 Aygo: UK model range, key features and prices

New Aygo’s grade structure has been developed to appeal to an even wider audience, with a special focus on the high end of the segment. Each grade has its own design elements, easily recognisable by different front bumper executions, dedicated alloy wheels and interior finishes.

From the entry grade x, to the mid-grade x-play and high-grade x-clusiv, each Aygo version has been tailored to appeal to the tastes and needs of different target customers. All are offered in five-door format, with only the x version additionally available as a three-door.

x-play is at the heart of the Aygo line-up. Its extensive standard equipment includes air-conditioning, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, height adjustable driver’s seat, adjustable speed limiter, LED rear lights and the x-touch multimedia system with DAB and Bluetooth. Options include satellite navigation and Toyota Safety Sense.

The new Aygo x-plore extends the specification with 15-inch machined alloy wheels, front fog lights, automatic air conditioning, automatic headlights, rear privacy glass, reversing camera and satellite navigation. It can also be specified with a power-retracting canvas Funroof and Toyota Safety Sense.

The x-cite version (above) stands out from the rest of the range with its Magenta Fizz bi-tone paint finish and matching interior with Manhattan seat fabric and magenta stitching, body-coloured inserts for the air vents and gear-knob, and piano black instrument panel and gear lever surround. It is fitted with 15-inch black alloys, front fog lights, automatic air conditioning, automatic headlights and rear privacy glass. The x-touch multimedia system, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, comes as standard, while Toyota Safety Sense is available as an option.

The x-clusiv (above) builds on the x-play standard specification with a distinctive bi-tone paint scheme in a choice of three colours – black with a silver roof, blue with a black roof, or silver with a black roof. It has 15-inch alloy wheels with a twin-spoke design (below), seats with part-leather upholstery, automatic air conditioning, smart entry and start, Toyota Safety Sense and the x-touch multimedia system, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Just 2,500 examples of the Aygo x-press will be available this year. Its striking exterior features a full roof decal and coloured accents for the front and rear lips and side sills, plus 15-inch black alloys. The specification also includes front fog lights, automatic air conditioning, automatic headlights, rear privacy glass and a reversing camera. Customers can add either the connectivity package (x-touch multimedia system, supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) or navigation as an option, and can also specify Toyota Safety Sense.

2018 Aygo: multimedia

The x-touch multimedia system uses a seven-inch full-colour touchscreen integrated in the instrument panel. The package includes DAB and a rear-view monitoring system fitted as standard. The main menu has a clear, five-icon layout, offering at-a-glance identification of all functions.

The optional x-nav navigation unit can be linked to the multimedia system, giving drivers easy access to fast and accurate, pan-European route guidance.

A new smartphone integration system powered by Pioneer is fitted as standard on high grade x-cite and x-clusiv models and is available as an option for the x-press. It builds on all the features of the standard system with the addition of voice control and support for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Phone, message, navigation and music apps are mirrored on the touchscreen, while Apple Siri and Google Voice Command provide easy and safe operability.

2018 Aygo: power-operated canvas top

Aygo x-plore and x-clusiv can be fitted with an optional Funroof, a large, power-operated canvas top with a generous 785x730mm opening.

2018 Aygo: smart entry and start system

Aygo x-clusiv’s smart entry and start system offers drivers the convenience of being able to lock and unlock the car, and start the engine via a dash-mounted button, without having to take the key out of their pocket.

  1. Hi

Is it possible to put a multi media system (that supports apple car play) in a 2017 Aygo X-Press.
If so, where would I be able to buy one from?

    Thanks, Mike

      1. Hi Mike,
        Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately, this is not something that can be fitted by Toyota.
There is the possibility to carry out this work as an aftermarket modification, although if a fault occurs due to this modification, we cannot guarantee it will be covered by warranty due to it not being as a result of a manufacturing defect.
This can also cause problems if the car is on loan due to it being modified away from its original specification.
        Thanks.

  2. Hi there I was planning to buy a x-press 2018 Aygo with the x-touch 7 inch multimedia touch screen Can I confirm it does have the CarPlay or it needs to be installed, if yet how much it is

    1. Hi Omotunde Ganiu Adebola,
Thanks for getting in touch with us. It’s great that you’re thinking of buying an Aygo!
If you could provide us with a reg, we’ll be able to check this out for you.
Retrofitting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to this vehicle is not possible currently.
      Thanks.

  3. Hi,

I have a Toyota Aygo X-Plore early 2018 reg, and it has sat nav. Does it support android auto or not? When I click on connections, there is a navi button which works and what looks like a button to connect your phone to the screen, but it’s greyed out. Guessing this means it doesn’t connect? Bit annoying that the button is there but just doesn’t work though!

    1. Hi George,
      Thanks for your comment.
Unfortunately, the 2018 Aygo X-Plore specification does not come with Android Auto.
However, your vehicle does support Bluetooth connectivity, meaning you can still connect your phone to your vehicle for calls and music.
      Thanks.

  4. Hi I recently purchased a Toyota Aygo automatic 2018 x-press
    I have 2 questions
1st one dose it have sat nav built in ? (Can’t seem to find it )
2nd I have reverse camera but it doesn’t seem to make a bleeping noise?
    Please advise
    Reg number nl18 jxu

    1. Hi Joanne,
Thanks for your comment and congratulations on your new Aygo!
Firstly, the X-Nav Integrated Navigation Unit was an optional extra in the Aygo X-Press specification. So your car may not have it.
Secondly, the reason for no bleeping noise is because the vehicle does not have parking sensors.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.
      Thanks.

  5. Hi, please help. Just bought a Aygo 2018 & it has the option of Apple Airplay for iPhone but not Android Auto. How do I change this as doesn’t give me the option??? Registration YR18 XSO

  6. Please can you tell me if my 2018 Argo has sat nav or car play. Can’t seem to get either to work. Thank you. Reg YD18 EOC

    1. Hi Heather,
Your Aygo does not have Apple CarPlay.
Also, the X-Nav Integrated Satellite Navigation Unit was available as an optional extra on your Aygo. So it may or may not have it.
      Thanks.

  7. Hi i recently got a toyota aygo 2019 (69) should this have apple carplay? (Theres is only 2 buttons on the screen, but should there have been 3?) thanks

    1. Hi Danni, thanks for your comment.

We cannot advise on this without knowing the grade of your vehicle. If you provide your registration number we can check this.
Please also be advised that Apple CarPlay required a wired connection to your device.

      Thanks.

  8. On my Aygo’s menu, it has an orange ‘connection’ button, but I don’t understand what it does.

    Any help?
